Lenovo’s Ecosystem & Monetization (E&M) organization is looking for a Software Project Manager responsible for software delivery and releases on the next generation of PC+ products. The candidate needs excellent communication skills, technical awareness, decision making abilities, assessing and prioritizing of projects and issues, innovative and out of box thinking to meet schedule requirements to the business. Candidates will have daily work with globally diverse teams located in China, Japan and the United States.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead and develop SW schedules to drive on-time deliverables supporting the Offering Delivery Team
• E&M representative in the PC+ business unit product Offering Delivery Teams
• Size project change requests and coordinate SW refreshes as needed
• Negotiate with cross-functional teams to provide creative solutions that meet customer and marketing requirements. This includes the technical understanding needed to negotiate with engineering teams.
• Present weekly project status to the executive management teams
• Maintain project documentation and practice change control
• Continuously drive process improvements through Lessons Learned and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
• Participate and lead product readiness reviews to validate the quality of the deliverables
• Work with cross-functional teams to drive defect resolution and lessons learned
• Understand project metrics and can adjust project plan as necessary, remove impediments where needed, and keep stakeholders informed and bought-in to project changes.
• Develop Notebook software delivery plans, identify milestones, project goals, schedules, and drive execution of the plans.
• Participate in strategic initiatives to drive efficiency and optimization into the organization
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree; computer discipline or technical background preferred
• Minimum six years’ experience
• PMP certification or Candidate for certification
• Proven strong leadership; ability to manage others, multiple, complex projects simultaneously and to meet aggressive schedules
• Strong Communicator: Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of team and management
• Demonstrates independent, proactive thinking
• Demonstrates flexibility for ad-hoc assignments
• Ability to work effectively with wide range of individuals across a diverse and global community
• Ability to utilize data to influence decisions when presenting to ODTs and E&M management forums.
• Support software compliance processes and ensure that risks are mitigated.
• Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Work schedule flexibility required to accommodate working with global community
• Some travel may be required (minimum 10%)
• CET 6 and/or TEM8 English Requirements
