Position Description:
1.Provide cost estimates for smartphone mechanical assemblies
2.Identify cost reduction opportunities on smartphone mechanicals that will yield cost savings for current and future Lenovo products;
3.Compare supplier “quotes” to “estimates” for variances – communicate cost opportunities to GCM’s and support cost negotiations;
4.Collect and update the mechanical costs within TEC database.
Position Requirements:
1.Knowledge of smartphone mechanical part manufacturing process including molding, decoration, final assembly
2.Experience of cost estimating;
3.Ability to identify cost avoidance and cost reduction opportunities through design for cost changes and supplier negotiations;
4.Documenting results of cost avoidance and cost reductions achieved;
5.Strong team player – both internal and with cross-functional teams including Development, Procurement and Cost Managers;
6.English communication skills.
