ROLE: The role of Component Costing Analyst is to support Wolverine brands in achieving profitability objectives

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set formula-based outsole, midsole, and other molded part costs with suppliers (40%)

· For all new outsoles, midsoles, and other molded parts, use established formulas and supplier agreements to calculate part costs. This will require the following activities:

o Communicate with PD to identify new component parts

o Gather samples from suppliers

o Weigh and/or measure parts as dictated by pricing process

o Provide results to T2 supplier and communicate to internal costing colleagues and factories on a regular basis

o Advise internal colleagues of opportunities for cost reduction

Negotiate mold costs with mold houses (20%)

· For new molds, negotiate mold price with mold shops directly

· Facilitate the Pro Forma invoice process for timely processing of mold opening

· Communicate mold costs to internal stakeholders and factories as necessary

· Be a firm and fair interface with component suppliers and mold shops to constantly drive cost reduction through benchmarking and volume leverage

Ensure compliance to Wolverine pricing standards with T2 suppliers (10%)

· Maintain a transparent record of all pricing agreements on properties such as:

o Compound KG price

o Sheet price of die cut goods

o Loss rates

o LOP

o Extra making costs

· Supporting the use of nominated suppliers and communicating exceptions and rationale

Maintain appropriate documentation of part pricing (15%)

· Maintain a running report of all set part costs

· Distribute on a regular basis internally and externally as per process TBD

Support transition in mold amortization process (15%)

· Provide assistance in mold amortization tracking process

· Play a major role in the transition from factory-amortized to Wolverine-owned mold process

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Motivated self-starter

· Strong negotiation skills

· Dynamic personality, comfortable with working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment

· The ability to create and maintain user-friendly, accurate reports and price history

· Strong attention to detail

· Five to Seven years of footwear experience (factory, product development and/or costing), Experience with molds and molded part price negotiation significant plus

· Proficient in English, both written and verbal

· Intermediate knowledge of typical business applications (Excel, Word) as well as other platforms
