职位描述

Summary:
Lead development of an innovation pipeline for one of Hershey’s global brands in the Sweets Business Unit – with an emphasis on the China, India and the Asian region. This position would lead the innovation strategy to address trends/unmet needs and achieve company growth and profit targets. This includes the identification and assessment of strategic opportunity areas and development of new initiatives from discovery and ideation through to commercialization using the approved stage gate process. Strategies must include the 3 – 5 year growth plan to sustainable commercial success and address the change management needs required to align and excite the organization behind these initiatives. Objectives will be accomplished through leadership of global/regional cross-functional project teams, suppliers and external partners. This position will also include global brand development activities. This position will be located in Hershey’s Shanghai Innovation Center and will require roughly 25-35% travel.
Summary of major duties:
1. Strategy/Positioning of New Products:
? Builds global strategies based upon thoughtful consumer insights, thorough competitive and market analysis and a deep understanding of emerging trends
? Manages the development of established or new brands through the stage gate process. Assist in building/defining positioning for existing/new brands in the pipeline or integrates new proposition with established brand positioning and brand evolution strategy
2. Discovery/Ideation
? Defines strategic platforms, identifies research plans and builds a robust pool of insights and ideas to mine.
? Build an innovation pipeline against strategic platforms to deliver 5 year plan
3. Analysis:
? Analyzes, recommend and lead as appropriate, transactions relevant to the company’s commercial success in new ‘white space’.
? Leads the analysis protocol – business case development, testing and associated hurdles and tracking mechanisms.
4. Planning:
? Plans appropriately through each stage of the innovation pipeline to ensure adequate depth/resources to meet business objectives.
? Leads transition of new products/new business projects to appropriate commercial team.
? Leads the interface between the innovation team and the Regional business teams including: IBM, CBTs, SLT, Strategic Plan and Operating Plan
5. Partnership Management:
? Develop supplier relationships to close internal capability gaps required to meet identify new innovation opportunities
6. Leadership and Organization Alignment (Internal / External Stakeholders):
? This role requires leadership and communication across all parts of the business, engagement and alignment of senior leaders and working through external partners to achieve target results.
7. People Development:
? Attracts, leads, manages, and mentors employees in such a way to ensure retention, development, and superior performance of talent

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
? Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or similar fields; MBA degree required
? Minimum of 8 years relevant Marketing experience. Progression of successful accomplishments in marketing that includes leadership through ambiguity to identify and commercialize a significant new brand or major new marketing program that delivered target business results. Solid front-end innovation capability including the identification of insights and translation to business growth strategy. Experience with marketing consultant agencies. Previous global project management experiences a plus.
