Position Description:
The Service Parts Engineer position is fully accountable for developing and implementing the strategic and tactical initiatives associated with service parts engineering management which includes product engineering, service parts Master Data, engineering change management, service parts quality control and consistent engineering policy & process across WW Region.
This position is the focal point of contact for external Service Partners, external Commodity Vendors & internal business divisions with regard to overall spare parts engineering management. In addition, this position will work directly with the Services Quality & Corporate Quality teams to align on engineering implementation of quality practices. While this position is located in Beijing, the Service Parts Engineering team resides around the globe in order to work daily operations with local Service Partners & Commodity Vendors, resolve escalations, manage contractual terms, drive strategic initiatives and ensure globally consistent engineering practice. The overall vision for this team is to be the industry benchmark for global Service Engineering.

Accountability summary:
-Coordinate and push for Master Data systems data synchronization
-Provide parts engineering/technical support on sBOM lifecycle content & accuracy
-Work with Development for sBOM NPI content definition
-UCI & LUCI data management
-Coordinate and push for Substitution & Engineering Change Process establishment and improvement
-Process & Regulatory Compliance Audit
-Provide support to explore and verify substitutions
-Provide support to locate source for PN with no source

Primary responsibilities
-Lead the outsourced Service parts engineering operations across both commercial ‘Think’ and transactional ‘Idea’ branded products. Product lines include Notebook, Desktop, Netbook, Server, Display, Tablet and other peripherals.
-Develop consistent global engineering policy, process & procedure to ensure daily service parts quality operations exist locally and worldwide. Document the global standard management systems manual, and perform ongoing training to ensure accurate implementation.
-Lead end-to-end service parts engineering change management. Ensure engineering changes for revisions, holds, purges, captures and upgrades are implemented across 50 APJ service parts stocking locations. Minimize impact on Excess & Obsolescence (E&O).
-Implement preventative actions resulting from lessons learned.
-Perform periodic environmental audits at Service sites to ensure consistent policy & procedures as well as effective & efficient operations. Scorecard and track improvements.
-Perform"new node" qualification for business model enhancements
-Prepare new engineering coverage as Lenovo introduces new product categories.
-Make certain of contractual adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for overall service parts operations.
-Collect service parts operational & engineering feedback to influence "design for service" future product enhancements
-Execute business controls for overall operations effectiveness & efficiency
-Manage the acquisition and disposition of Lenovo product at Service locations to aid in product repair.

General responsibilities
-Oversee Service Partners daily engineering management operations through on-site and remote management
-Set Service Partners priorities based on customer requirements, resolve escalations & drive preventative programs
-Manage Service Partners & Global Supply Chain Commodity Vendors to contractual service level agreements, if needed
-Provide leadership in the development & alignment of global services sourcing, contract negotiations and partner strategies to ensure service part engineering management improvement
-Publish daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, audit & reconcile to closure
-Improve performance through data analytics driving continuous improvement to maximize efficiency
-Assist with new product introductions and assure engineering readiness for product launch
-Help improve customer loyalty
-Work cross-functionally with other departments and divisions to assure goals are achieved
-Implement new business development initiatives by creating business case proposals
-Promote cooperative, productive business relationships with external Service Partners and internal team members

Position Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree or above (Electronics and Computer HW Engineering Major preferred )
2. -Electronics education and PC HW related working experiences is must
-Strong partner management experience
-Excellence in matrix organizations & virtual teaming -Demonstrated process improvement, lean six sigma culture & change management skills
-Skilled in multi-cultural, multi-country & multi-time zone business environment
-Self-driven, hands-on & results-oriented to perform in a cross-functional internal and external partner environment
-Detailed knowledge of service offerings, service engineering metrics and service quality -Exceptional verbal and written communication & presentation skills, including ability to influence and express concepts concisely to multi-national audience.
-High level of accuracy combined with a strong sense of urgency. The ability to analyze large amounts of data, produce results and frequently update executive management.
-Eager-to-learn with fast-learning curve; able to standing high pressure; Teamwork and load-sharing spirits are must
-Friendly to communicate & work with in multi-culture environment
3.More than 5 years work experience
-Candidates with solid background in PC HW service parts and Engilish skills with shorter period of experiences will be considered
-Experiences in service parts, Bill of Materials, Substitution Materials and Engineering Changes are highly valued
-5-7 years proven service or supply chain engineering experiences
-Must be very strong in English and Mandarin verbal and written communications with great presentation skills
4.Excellent Presentation skill, Communicating skills, Problem solving, Teaming and collaboration ability, English skill
5.Male preferred
