Position Description:
The Director of IT Strategy is a senior position in Enterprise Architecture, Security & IT Strategy organization, the role reports to the leader of Enterprise Architecture, Security & IT Strategy organization.

Working together with other organizations in IT, this role is responsible for leading, collaborating, and facilitating the development of the IT Strategy, technology roadmap and execution plans for Lenovo. Responsibilities include:

1. Lead the Lenovo IT strategy development to support the business direction with in depth of understanding of both business strategy and directions, and IT industry’s technology trends and IT best practice
2. Ensure interlock of IT strategy at the executive level and with business strategy development counterparts, and ensure clear communication of the IT strategy and plans to functional leaders across the company
3. Prioritize and execute a portfolio of strategy development and technology assessment projects to support technology and IT investment decision making
4. Develop and implement IT planning key tools, frameworks and methodologies for the CIO team

The candidate must be:

1. An expert in strategy development with analytical, structured thinking, methodical problem solving approach
2. Capable of gathering specific facts on a problem and presenting the solution in a holistic manner
3. Able to collaborate and communicate with non-IT leaders and ensure their understanding of the impacts of the IT Strategy in business terms
4. Good at building strong work relationships with key stakeholders in IT and business and quickly establishing credibility
5. With Mandarin fluency and strong English verbal and written skills
6. A team player with ability to work effectively with and influence others
7. Self-motivated, with strong drive to deliver impactful and quality solutions under tight deadlines
8. Highly confident with strong thought leadership and thirst for innovation
9. Familiar with IT best practices, management methodologies, and operational process disciplines.

Work-Related Experience Preferred

1. Consulting background (2+ years post MBA, or 5+ years if no MBA) at an international consulting firm, specifically, in IT strategy development
2. Having led IT teams and managed projects to deliver superior results
3. Broad exposure to business and IT technology, as well as a wide range of business functions and industries
4. International experience, and high-tech manufacturing/consumer electronics/PC experience are a plus
