Position:  Project Manager (New Product Development)

Reports to:  Project Manager

Location:    Shenzhen, China

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Continually drive, monitor and execute the most efficient development process from brief to products in Tupperware warehouse to deliver products at optimum cost, quality and speed.

• Thermal

• Electrical Appliances

• Cookware

• Supplements

• Homewares

• ….manufactured goods

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Establish project plan/timelines with a clear understanding of project scope and objectives.    

2.  Identify project milestones and ensure critical dates met.   

3.  Co-ordinate timings and tasks of key development functions including Procurement, Quality, Regulatory and Marketing to meet product launch dates.  

4.  Co-ordinate, direct and follow-up tasks through the development process to manage any delays or any potential issues that could impact launch dates. 

5.  Ensure overall development process is efficient and key check-off points performed to deliver product at optimum cost, speed and quality.   

6.  Prioritize tasks based on resources, timings, risks and capabilities to meet product launch date.   

7.  Identify bottlenecks/issues during development and facilitate resolution.   

8.  Schedule and facilitate work in progress meetings with team to confirm project status, next steps and resolve potential issues.

9.  Provide weekly summary of project status.   

10. Continually review overall process for developing / launching products and implement improvements.

  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Supply Chain or comparable disciplines.  Industry certifications a plus.
• At least 3 years' experience in project managing the development of new products.
• Some experience in project managing cross functional teams across different countries is highly desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Sound knowledge of a project management tool, highly desirable is Microsoft Project.
• Ability to implement project management principles, tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge and understanding of the various functions involved in developing new products.
• Demonstrates strong business judgement and critical thinking to resolve issues.
• Uses a fact-based process to drive decision-making.
• Effectively assesses project risks and implements plans to prevent delayed launches.
• Able to engage and work with stakeholders to understand business and product requirements and gain support for the development of new products.
