Position: Manager External Affairs

Timeframe: immediate (must in position Q3/2012)

Job Description



Report to VP Corp Affairs; lead the strategy, implementation, and operations of Sateri's External Affairs


Role and responsibility


Assist in the development and implementation of Sateri group's External Affairs strategy
Develop and maintain effective relations with external key stakeholders including government departments that have impacts on our projects and operations; our industry related trade media and associations; NGOs
Provide strategic and operational support to Sateri's SSL activities (in SJX and SFJ) including pre-phase, projects, operation, and site CSR programs driven by BU
Coordinate with Sateri Investor Relations department to manage Sateri's external communications in mainland, and maintain appropriate processes, procedures, key content and delivery
Provide advice and support to Sateri's internal communications, in coordination with Group and BU
Monitor mainland media coverage and perception related to Sateri and maintain appropriate procedures and practice for issue management and crisis management communications
Assist in establishing practical analysis of Social Responsibility and advice on basic sustainability reporting requirements and matrix
Maintain Sateri group's CI and provide supervision and advice when BUs apply CI


Criteria is:


Relevant tertiary qualifications (post graduate business qualifications would be an advantage)
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Corporate External Affairs, Corporate Communications and Public Relations (a background in a resource based industry would be an advantage).
A solid track record in managing media as well as issues & crisis management experiences
Experience in stakeholder management
Good social capital network, understanding of Sustainability and environmental protection issues
Outstanding communications skills, both spoken and written, in English and Mandarin would be a distinct advantage
Able to represent the group with senior management, and a variety of internal stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership qualities, driven, motivated individuals with the ability to operate independently, High EQ / AQ
