Role Summary/Purpose

This role represents GE in a Digital Energy Automation Joint Venture with XD electric Ltd. This role works closely with GE Energy Digital Energy China GM, Digital Energy P&L leaders (power equipment, Smart Grid) and JV Management Team to lead long-term planning and overall business strategy, direct overall operations and functions, integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across JV organization.

Essential Responsibilities

General Management: • Work with JV and GE teams in developing long-term JV strategy and plan; • Create and cultivate JV culture, policy and process; • Work with local legislative bodies to promote decisions with a positive impact on the business; • Present ideas, thoughts, and projects to GE and JV BOD to get support on JV projects and serves as a recognized expert and resource leader for functional focus areas; • Develop rigorous control plans; working closely with process owners, project champions, and business teams to provide leadership and direction on the implementation of strategies and processes and ensure improvement gains are sustained on a long-term basis in a significant wing-to-wing process. • Work out and maintain smooth decision making mechanism and operating mechanism with JV partner. Commercial: • Understand customer needs, market place dynamics, industry trends, & the competitive landscape in the industry/function, consider the impact on the external environment in terms of business decisions and activities; • Develop and execute the China marketing strategy which aligns to the overall business strategy; • Develop and maintain market analysis and VOC (voice of the customer) which includes market trends, market size, segment position, and competitors; • Lead the Growth Playbook process and strategy including market assessment, product & solution offerings, development lifecycle management & competitive assessment. Operation: • Provide leadership in the execution of the JV operating plans; • Direct all manufacturing operations, material inventory and logistics management processes to meet commercial demand and supply chain objectives; • Lead the establishment and attainment of plant goals in quality, cost (base & variable), delivery service, compliance and safety; • Build up technical capability via monitoring the technical licensing/transferring process and local employment. • Driving manufacturing team towards execution of Business Goals using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodology; • Proactively lead the quality team to simplify the work instructions, procedures and processes within the value stream to drive continuous improvement of the Quality Management System; • Drive the efforts to achieve the EHS requirements and ongoing improvement activities. Finance: • Develop and manage operational budgets to ensure productive operations in order to meet the company's financial objectives • Monitor process, analyze data, and recommend business strategies to minimize operating cost. Compliance: • Ensure compliance with requirements of all assigned contracts, applicable government regulations and company policies Others: • Communicate progress, status and issues to the business leaders ; • Seek, share and institutionalize best practices; • Design, develop, implement, and institutionalize process improvements.

Qualifications/Requirements

Critical Criteria • Working experience in power automation or other Transmission & Distribution area; • JV leadership experience, working experiences in state-owned companies in China is preferred; • Minimum 5 years general management leadership experience; Other requirements • Bachelor and above from accredited university in manufacturing/engineering related discipline ; • Able to build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders & working with various levels of people; • Able to successfully motivate and maintain high morale, employee engagement, safety and teamwork; • Able to energizing others by building a connection with the team through personal involvement , trust and providing feedback/coaching to develop others; • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in an ambiguous environment; • A clear thinker, able to simplifying strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information , communicating priorities clearly and concisely; • Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and verbal English and Mandarin.
