POSITION PURPOSE
？ The Product Engineer will be responsible for Driving re-engineering programs and new product
introductions in addition to leading factory validation, product assessments, tests, and inspections in
coordination with Atlanta SSC Product Engineering team, suppliers, sourcing leaders and service
providers. Integrate all available supplier, factory and product data and analyze metrics and reporting
to effectively monitor quality, service, cost, and risk components of each process. Monitor the
implementation of continuous improvement and corrective/preventative action plans throughout
each process.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
？ 40% Assign assessment, test, evaluate, verify and report compliance with product definition, manage
the product portfolio, set product specifications features and collaborate with vendor and factory for
product re-engineering and new product introductions;
？ 15% Support Product Line Review (PLR) activities by providing direction to suppliers regarding product
requirements, manage multiple projects in THD onboarding processes;
？ 15% Support new product development (NPD) activities acting as liaison between strategic
suppliers/sourcing teams and Atlanta SSC associates and representing manufacturing interests during
product development;
？ 10% Failure response activities. Determine root cause of product quality issue, and document analysis
results and improvement action, Write technical documentation for engineering product planning.
？ 10% Management of assignments to service providers, based on pre-determined selection criteria, a
review of all technical requirements, and service provider capabilities.
Develop / validate test and inspection plans designed to assure quality of factories and products
based on a review of all applicable safety standards (such as American National Standards Institute or
Underwriters Laboratories), industry trends, and historical performance.
？ 10% Analyze and interpret assessment, test, and inspection results, and drive continuous improvement
and best practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
？ 3-5 years’ experience of engineering related field; At least 2 years of NPD project and product quality
assurance experience. Indoor furniture/deco Industry is preferred.
？ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field of study such as mechanical or material
science.
？ Metal/Wood product/fabric product basic knowledge is required, such as SWPW, PB, MDF, SS, SPCC
？ Good knowledge of wood and metal product and process.
？ Deep understanding of product, component manufacturing method, process
？ In depth knowledge in quality assurance and quality control, eg. FMEA, TA, BOM, DFR.
？ Good project management experience and organization skills.
？ Computer skills sufficient to retrieve, manipulate and analyze data
？ Cross function communication skills – English / Mandarin – Oral / Written – Computer
