Department: Finance Department
Reports to: Vice President of Finance
Located: Shanghai, China
POSITION SUMMARY:
Based on direction from the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance, this position will play a critical role in driving the operational success and support of the finance role in China. This position will provide expert financial advice: including analysis of business opportunities, developing financial plans, establishing/maintaining business performance measurements, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading the China Finance team, and working collaboratively with the management team. The position may also be charged with overseeing and prosecuting any internal company investigations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve as a business partner within the China management team, developing and implementing financial tools that allow management to: make effective business decisions; better assess financial performance, initiate appropriate capital requests and provide for business development.
2. Responsible for corporate accounting operations including, but not limited to: AR & AP, payment processing, month-end and year-end closings, financial reporting, taxation and corporate governance. This role ensures that correct accounting practices are implemented and followed (PRC GAAP, US GAAP and Corporate policy), ensures proper transaction processing and collection of receivables and acts as the key financial contact with Accounting and Tax personnel in the company US.
3. Create and maintain internal control documentation of all financial systems, processes and procedures. Provide recommendations of necessary changes in controls and write policies and procedures to communicate new controls.
4. Manage planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for China including: support of strategic planning efforts, development and analysis of initiatives, and validation of assumptions for forecasts and annual budgets.
5. Manages the relationship and coordinates the schedules and activities of the external auditing groups.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
This position will lead China Finance Team.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. A Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business, CPA preferred.
2. Minimum experience of (8 to 10) eight to ten years of progressive experience in a, multinational manufacturing and /or a distribution organization.
3. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
4. Position requires the ability to work autonomously and in complete confidentiality.
5. Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
6. This position also requires a detailed oriented approach.
7. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Fluent in Chinese and English.
9. Some travel required including international travel.
