职位描述
Position Summary:
- Provides direction and assistance to Chomerics AP sales to ensure the proper and successful application of Chomerics products.
- Develops necessary tools and training materials, conducts training seminars, and provides hands on assistance for applications engineering for Chomerics AP when required.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
- Reports to Business Unit Manager and works with Regional Managers, Account Managers, Divisions, Distributors and Customers to promote the use and sale of Chomerics products.
- Interfaces directly with OEM's and other Customers as needed for Applications, Seminars and Engineering Reviews.
Essential Functions:
- The Application Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of providing technical engineering support for customers, distributors, and field sales.
- Analyze and solve technical engineering application problems for both existing and potential customers.
- Consult with customers, distributors, and field sales regarding product capabilities.
- Apply Chomerics products along with complementary products to produce systems that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Stimulate customer awareness through training and technical product/application seminars.
- Recommend product design improvements and new product needs based on customer application analysis. Submit new product "Ideas" via the Winovation process.
- Simulate the customer's application via Software (FEA), and/or work with Lab Engineers to interpret to internal evaluation procedure and testing methodology. Responsible for understanding and interpreting all of the engineering standards as they apply for the divisions' products.
- Liaison includes Marketing and Sales Management to provide technical support in the areas of market requirements and product design and development; Manufacturing Engineering to facilitate incorporation of current manufacturing practices into new designs and improve manufacturability of existing products;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering. Advanced degree is preferred
- Five years supervisory experience; ten years engineering experience.
- 5-10 years experience in application engineering
- Mechanical (structural) design experience in electronic industry or telecommunication industry
- EMI and Thermal material application experience is preferred
- Must demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written English communication skills.
- PC Proficient (AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Access, Project, Lotus Notes preferred).
