OVERVIEW
The HR Manager acts as the human resource generalist to an assigned business unit within the organization. Responsible for the day-to-day management of HR operations, which includes the administration of policies, procedures and programs of the organization. This role, provides HR expertise to employees and leadership for Asia based associates. The majority population is based in China and part of the Global Operations Sourcing team. Key areas of HR focus include employee/labor relations, training and development, coaching, and recruitment.
PRIMARY DUTIES
1/ Act as an advisor to managers in matters of employee relations, talent management, learning and development, culture, and talent acquisition.
2/ Act as a liaison between local Human Resources and corporate Centers of Excellence to support Wolverine’s global and local initiatives.
3/ Administer the human resources policies and programs for the respective country or functional group to ensure compliance and alignment between country and corporate policies and practices.
4/ Manage and lead a team of direct reports; leading them and directing them in day to day specialist and generalist operations and developing them for future growth.
5/ Ensure a positive employee experience through the management of employee relations issues and proactive implementation of programs and practices that drive employee engagement.
6/ Responsible for identifying training needs and working in partnership with the Training team to design and implement impactful learning and development.
7/ Lead business partners in conducting sensible and focused organization, resource and succession planning.
8/ Manage hiring practices to ensure appropriate staffing levels are achieved with qualified and engaged individuals.
9/ Develop human resource and business solutions by recommending courses of action. Utilize reports, networks, subject matter knowledge and best in class practices to formulate recommendations.
10/ Responsible for implementing compensation and benefit programs specific to the assigned country.
11/ Perform duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
12/ Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1/ Bachelor’s degree
2/ Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience. HR generalist experience preferred
3/ Demonstrated knowledge of China specific employment laws and practices. Knowledge of other Asia country employment laws and practices are preferred.
4/ Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
5/ Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English
6/ Strong relationship-building & team collaboration skills
7/ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
8/ Desires a fast-paced, ever-changing, fun environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment. Minimal travel required.
