Main Responsibilities
? Coordinate communications and media activities for Sateri in China, working closely with the communications teams at the three viscose mills, the marketing and sustainability people in Shanghai and the Singapore-based head of communications and sustainability
? Plan, promote and execute events in China, including Sateri’s presence at trade shows, forums and community activities
? Work with event organisers, vendors and partners to ensure deadlines, quality standards and budgets are met
? Monitor traditional and social media for potential story angles and emerging issues
? Identify important local stories and community activities to put on the Chinese and English versions of the Sateri website
? Write press releases and stories in Mandarin and English
? Plan, coordinate and script videos about activities at the three plants and in the communities around them
? Build relationships with key local, regional, national and international media in China, including bloggers and influencers
? Build relationships with NGOs, government departments, academics and other experts
? Translate materials from Mandarin to English and vice versa
? Assist in the preparation of Sateri’s annual Sustainability Report


Other Considerations
? Advanced written and spoken English and Mandarin are essential
? Experience: At least 7-10 years in a similar role at a reputable agency or company. Work with a resources-based or manufacturing company would be an advantage
? Act as the “eyes and ears on the ground” in China for the head of communications and sustainability
? Ability to take the initiative, make decisions and work directly with senior executives across the organisation
? Travel: Initial familiarisation visits to the three mills then trips as required – likely once per month for a few days. Occasional trips to Singapore and Jakarta
? The usual week is Monday to Friday but must be prepared to work out of regular hours when events are happening and issues are breaking 举报 分享
