Job Purpose
A research executive provides assistance to more senior members of the research team in processing projects through proposals, questionnaire design, fieldwork, data entry and analysis, report writing and presentation. In most cases the research executive will work as part of a team though may from time to time be called upon to work independently. Learning will be provided through in house and external courses, on the job training and coaching as well as self study through reading. He / she should strive to build confidence / credibility with clients and to demonstrate a good understanding of the various research methodologies as well as the therapy area working in.
Main Job Responsibilities
1.Support senior research executives and others in preparing proposals for clients as well as attending briefing meetings as necessary
2.Design of questionnaires to show knowledge and techniques in writing basic questions.
3.Translate questionnaires from English to Chinese or vice versa accurately.
4.Assist in developing code frames to accurately and comprehensively capture the open-ended questions.
5.Undertake in depth qualitative interviews and successfully conduct focus groups when requested to do so.
6.Write data processing (DP) specifications to ensure the specs accurately reflect the data processing requirements.
7.Assist to extract data and figures from computer tabulations or interview transcripts to provide useful and meaningful data for further analysis by senior members of the team.
8.Assist to prepare qualitative & quantitative reports under senior colleagues' guidance and supervision
9.Coordinate work with other offices to ensure project schedules are followed.
10.Assist senior members on ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications
1.Local Chinese with fluent Mandarin is essential
2.Strong English language skills are essential
3.An undergraduate degree in an appropriate area - science, medicine, pharmacy, mathematics, business is essential
4.An advanced degree would be an advantage
5.Overseas work / study experience is desired
6.Clinical medicine background and experience in the China market is desired
7.Healthcare industry marketing and sales experience is desired
8.Market research / business consulting / advertising company experience is desired
9.A network of contacts across the China healthcare sector is desired
Working Relationship
Internal:
Researchers, Senior Researchers, Project Managers, Project Directors, Directors, Administrators, Clerk / Supervisor of other internal departments, including Fieldwork, Data Processing.
External:
Product managers, marketing research managers and other sales and marketing personnel of client companies to report fieldwork progress and other facts as well as attending client meetings with other researchers for project briefing and debriefing.
Other Requirements
1.Reliable and able to work to deadlines
2.Able to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours (late evening s and weekends)
3.Willingness to travel in China and internationally
4.Good attention to detail
