Summary:

In full compliance with FCI purchasing policy, the site buyer coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw material, components, equipments, tools, or general supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify, source, negotiate, select and develop agreements with suppliers within his budget limitations and scope of authority

• Provide the site purchasing manager with new potential purchasing cost reduction initiatives using various levers such as: volume consolidation with other sites, LCC sourcing, Buy vs. Make, etc..

• Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action

• In coordination with the warehouse discusses potential optimization of the supply chain (order process, consignment stock VMI) with vendors. Take corrective action if goods or services are not delivered on time.

• Maintain manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Maintain data into the MRP system

• Report savings achieved after validation by site purchasing manager and site controller.

• Prepare purchase orders

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• More than 2 years purchasing working experience

• Must be familiar with sourcing practices. Commercial and/or technical experience with regards to contract preparation, negotiation, technical capability assessment and development of strategic relationships.

• Independent, self-motivator with a technical, commercial mind set.

• Fluent in English

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
