JOB SUMMARY:
This job holder must conduct daily factory in-line and final (
Home textile/Dec-Acc) inspections at his assigned factory location. In addition, he/she must perform any required in-line (Home Textile/Dec-Acc/packing) tests. His/her goal is to insure proper production controls are being enforced by the vendor’s own production & QA team; and to correct and trouble shoot any manufacturing production problem found. He/she must also insure he/she has adequate staff coverage within each factory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Understand the QA processes for the factory and establish a technical and business rapport with the vendor’s factory production team and line staff.
2. Execute daily Home textile/Dec-Acc in-line and final inspections in accordance with /to WSI procedures.
3. Deploy your staff for maximum coverage.
4. Provide accurate and timely quality control reports to your immediate supervisor.
5. Keep the QA Supervisor well informed of any potential issues that will affect quality or delivery.
6. Reference required control samples (MCS) or documents (PDS-Product data sheet or weekly production schedule) as required.
7. Have the right tools to perform the job.
- Lead a QC team and able to provide positive coaching.
- Train and coach junior staff to perform their assigned tasks.
- Cross check production loading (should this be the QC’s job?) and schedules with the vendor’s production team on daily basis in order to ensure adequate WSI QC staffing.
- Ensure QC staff is properly deployed within the assigned factory matrix to give the best coverage.
- Assist the QA manager to determine daily/weekly QC manpower arrangements.
- Ensure required documents/MCS/MCP/Test Reports maintained at the factory level at all times.
- Follow up on any quality corrective or preventive action plans proposed by WSI or the factory/vendor.
- Conduct ISTA in-house package drop testing when required.
- Attend product handover meetings and pilot runs conducted by the Home textile/Dec-Acc technical team.
- Understand WSI textile /Dec-Acc craft and testing requirements and Moisture Content (MC) controls.
- Know how to calibrate your MC pin tester properly.
- Ensure the testing tools, equipments are properly issued and return.
- Evaluate any direct reports on quarterly and annual basis.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
Basic Skills required:
- Understand Home textile/Dec-Acc quality control processes and systems.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Home Textile/Dec-Acc manufacturing experience or technical supervisory role with proven responsibility for over 2 technical/QC staff working under his/her supervision.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings with some skills in Auto Cad.
- Knowledge of testing tools and Home Textile/Dec-Acc production equipment applications.
General Skills Required
- Effective communication & report writing skills in English and Chinese.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities in solving production problem.
- Good eyesight.
- Good leadership capabilities to lead small group of QC team.
- Able to develop and train Quality team.
- Good Initiative, able to work under high pressure working environment
- Team Player, excellent initiative and responsible person.
