The Process Engineer will lead and support various functional activities necessary to achieve Business Objectives, including process optimization, variation reduction, and cost reduction, while ensuring that the highest safety and environmental standards are maintained. Specific duties include: process analysis, product quality improvements, supply chain analysis, systematic problem-solving, customer and supplier communications, capital project management and plant operations support. This position will also support other functions in new product introductions, asset utilization analysis, and development and rationalization of engineering standards and practices.

Responsibilities:
? Provide classical process engineering support for process optimization (quality improvements and variation reduction, equipment evaluation and design, material and energy balance, improvement project scope development, develop/maintain process models).
? Analyze all factors in the supply chain that can lead to product performance variation, and lead continuous improvement activities (supplier process analysis, in-process parameters, product quality and product performance analysis, correlation studies to determine new key parameters).
? Use problem-solving tools to produce data-based decisions (8D, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, statistical-based methodologies).
? Monitor, collect and communicate key data to customers and to suppliers, working jointly to solve problems and develop effective partnerships.
? Support capital projects (equipment design, cost estimating, justification analysis, installation supervision, process documentation, start-up and process qualification).
? Support operations as required to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing processes are maintained (instrumentation, other process control and monitoring systems, yield and energy improvement activities, continuous quality improvement activities).
? Support deployment and integration of new product processes and technologies.
? Improve asset utilization (cycle time improvements, reduce working capital)
? Understand, deploy and improve engineering standards consistent with Chemtura's policies and programs.

Requirements:
? Demonstrated skills in delivering results.
? Demonstrated passion for learning new skills and tools.
? Expertise in chemical process evaluation and optimization (design, simulation).
? Expertise in classical chemical engineering disciplines (fluid flow, heat exchange, separation, material / energy balances).
? Expertise in project management (including cost estimating / scheduling)
? Able to understand and articulate financial impact of design decisions on business and operations costs.
? Proficient at use of computer systems (MS Office, statistical analysis, SAP a plus)
? Knowledge of electrical, control, and instrumentation concepts a plus.
? Fluent in English - speaking and writing
