Sr. Research Associate / Research Scientist

Job Location: Shanghai, China

Key Deliverables

To be a liaison between S+T global team and local Asia business team particularly in the areas of biotech and natural discovery and ingredient development;

Conduct research in the area of natural complex ingredients using various biotechnological/ biochemical / process reactions aimed at developing novel proprietary ingredients, and build a leadership position in natural flavor ingredient research within Asia Pacific region

Gather emerging technological development in APAC and manage alliance partnership in the region
Core Responsibilities

- Develop natural complex ingredients with local raw materials to drive growth with high business potential.
- Work intimately with local business people, flavorists, application people, and others as needed for the evaluation of new ingredients and implement the feedback in the ingredient development process.
- Work closely with production/ pilot plant for the scale-up / production trials of complex ingredients.
- Technology transfer from global S&T center to local facility/customer or vice-versa.
- Gather emerging technological development in APAC and manage alliance partnership in the region
Job Requirements:
- Master degree or above in Food Science and/or Biochemistry.
- 0 - 3 years industrial research experience or equivalent is required.
- Strong research background in Protein Chemistry, Enzymology, Microbiology, Food Science is required.
- Food/ Flavor industry experience is highly desirable.
- Fluent in Chinese and English, familiar with Chinese culture.
- Strong communication skills, adaptability and agility of learning are essential.
