Position Overview  

This position will provide engineering and technical expertise to our strategic partners in the Asia Pacific region and translate any learnings to the team in the USA. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for finding and developing new and emerging technologies, materials, and product platforms through external partnerships, research, and development initiatives. 

     

Responsibilities:

• Network across different industries to bring new materials and processes to create innovative products.
• Stay up to date on the latest technology in the Asia Pacific region and discuss potential benefits with our strategic partners.
• Provide technical and leadership support in the development process of new platforms and/or products to be first to market.
• Participate in new product development projects from concept to market launch to meet business objectives
• Collaborate with other functional teams in the development of test methods, design verification, design validation
• Execute assigned projects and communicate results to the stakeholders.
• Use project management tools to manage and communicate Technical projects. 
• Work with our strategic partners to understand production capabilities, risks, capacity, and cost for each of the new platforms.
• Be responsible and accountable for the coordination, progress, and results of technical initiatives.
• Work with the Quality team to identify ways to improve current and future products. 
• Understand and be up to date on the flooring industry to anticipate new trends, new market directions, and competitor strategy.
• Understand the products to the raw material level. 
• Train our strategic partners about Shaw’s sustainability requirement.
• Build and use Intellectual Property (IP) as a strategic advantage for Shaw, beginning with a good understanding of IP basics.
• Visit potential new suppliers and provide insight.
• Be willing to travel 60% of the time.

Requirements: 

• Four-year degree required
• Must possess good interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Must speak Mandarin and English
