Position Description 

Global Sourcing is strategic and fast at providing sourcing solutions that create a competitive advantage. We do this by focusing on speed to market and facilitating team-based decision-making.

The Supplier Development Sourcing Director is responsible for identifying suppliers for long-term competitive advantage who could provide Shaw with capacity and innovation. This individual possesses a unique ability to work across multiple geographies and leverage their knowledge of factory operations, manufacturing, innovation, and relationship management to make objective and unbiased recommendations for potential future supplier partnerships.

        

Responsibilities:   

● On-going research of the global supply landscape to easily adapt and react to changes in the geopolitical and economic climate as well as create competitive advantage in our supply chain.   

● Gather knowledge of the worldwide supply chain for flooring and new business ventures.

● Qualitatively compare suppliers across different geographies, scale, and operational/ manufacturing complexity levels.

● Identify potential hidden costs and weigh risks.  

● Participates in the supplier qualification process, which includes development and execution of RFI/RFP documents, develop selection criteria and drive selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams.    

● Support all outsourced product categories and work closely to investigate and further leverage Shaw’s supplier partners.   

● Review and communicate market research including category, competitor, and trend information   

● Develop key category/supply chain profiles to exploit strategic advantages.    

● Collaborates with other Sourcing leaders and multiple business partners to ensure ongoing needs are met.   

● Drives execution in new business opportunities.  

● Demonstrate global cultural awareness.   

● Identify third parties that could support our operations in Asia (testing, auditing, chamber of commerce, etc.).   

●Other tasks assigned by leaders.   

    

Requirements:    

● 4-year university degree.  

● 6 years sourcing and procurement experience for a multi-national U.S. or European company, ideally with related flooring industry knowledge.   

● Global business and financial acumen.   

● Cultural sensitivity and experience working across a wide range of Asian countries, including, but not limited to China, SE Asia, and India.    

● Ability to travel internationally.    

●This position is based in Shanghai.
