This position will be responsible for managing a chemical manufacturing site within the Lawter network.
The key purpose of this position is to:
? Manage the EH&S and Operations disciplines and controls on Nanping Site to meet business requirements
? Ensure the timely manufacture of products in accordance with production schedules to specified quality standards and within budget.
? Maintain a cohesive culture that delivers a safe operation and industry cost advantages.
- Environmental, Health & Safety
? Ensure the business EH&S goals and targets are met and contribute to the EH&S culture of the business.
? Develop, implement, promote and monitor EH&S, Management Systems and Quality Assurance standards and practices.
? Maintain required safety and security standards and ensure good maintenance of all plant equipment, tools, and other Company property for which responsible.
? Ensure any non-conformance is identified and eliminated
? Ensure operating efficiency of all areas of the plant and compliance with company policies and safety standards.
-Plant Performance
? Manage and conduct quality control checks and regular stock checks
? Manage the development and implementation of quality standards for product and service delivery
? Manage corrective actions ensuing from customer complaints
? Maintain awareness of current market and technology trends to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.
? Ensure adherence to plant and equipment maintenance requirements
? Develop and make recommendations regarding improved operational procedures
? Prepare operating reports on production, costs, operating efficiency, stock and progress against budgeted targets.
? Prepare and submit budget, operating cost and production reports together with recommendations for continuous improvement.
? Effectively manage the organizations environmental operations to ensure efficient and effective waste management and compliance with internal and external standards.
? Partner with internal associates in all aspects of strategic and tactical productivity initiatives and be responsible for the timely and safe implementation and tracking of projects
? Partner with direct Manager to carry out assigned projects as required
-People Management
? Maintain effective relations with internal associates
? Achieve team performance targets through active coaching and team leadership
? Partner with direct manager in all aspects of workforce HR and IR management and progressive productivity initiatives and be the first line of grievance of handling and management
? Responsible for direct reports including the authority for HR decisions with the support of HR partnership

? Identify business improvement opportunities and initiate corrective actions
? Proactively contribute to the improvement of the business profitability and cash-flow
? Achieve financial targets and business development opportunities through effective management of resources
? Support the execution of Six Sigma projects as assigned or directed

? Proactively identifies issues and is highly responsive to complaints.
? Makes decisions and prioritizes actions according to the requirements of internal and external customers

Requirements:
? Bachelor+ degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent discipline
? Sound knowledge of operations in the Chemical Industry, with a minimum of 8 years experience in a responsible role
? Demonstrated knowledge of EH&S, production, supply chain principles, processing, cost control, maintenance, quality, warehouse, projects, human resources, and SOX compliance.
? Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to monitor and review performance.
? Working knowledge of legislation and regulations relevant to the manufacturing environment and chemical industry.
? Advanced planning, scheduling and organization skills.
? Advanced communication skills (written and verbal).
? Proven ability to work in a highly demanding environment dealing with conflicting priorities that require initiative, flexibility and adaptability.
? Proven aptitude to optimize resource allocation and continually seek improved efficiency including application of new technology/systems.
? Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office PC applications and an aptitude to master plant specific computer systems.
? Ability to support stated business objectives, enforce policies and procedures and actively champion change when required.
? Presentation and conduct appropriate for representation of Lawter
