On 1 July 2012, Pepkor formed a global sourcing business unit, Pepkor Global Sourcing (PGS) and is the Pepkor Group’s sourcing office that provides a strategic sourcing service to all retailers within the group. Its mission is to create value for all Pepkor retailers by leveraging their aggregated buying needs and providing them with strategic sourcing solutions.
Pepkor Global Sourcing (PGS) has offices in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Bangladesh and India with over 230 employees and growing. The majority of Pepkor Global Sourcing (PGS) ’s activities and employees are based in Shanghai, China.

We currently have a vacancy for the position below:

Job Responsibilities:

? Leading and advising PGS on all its information systems.
? Ensures the general well-being of PGS related to IT and OWNS the IT strategy and processes that supports the business.
? Leading a team of technical employees, which will both be an Infrastructure related desktop support team and Business Analysts.
? Areas of focus will be on infrastructure i.e. : Network / E Mail / Desk top Support / Data Base back-ups / Server room maintenance/ Correct Software / Scheduled upgrades across all of PGS locations.
? Oversee the planning and execution of infrastructure projects e.g.: new location set up / extension to current premises requiring networking and IT hardware / access system upgrades / telephony upgrades
? Oversee the planning and execution of Software implementation projects. By working closely with business and the team of BAs, you will lead the design, development and testing as well as the implementation into the PGS business. You will drive discipline around SDLC methodology (Software Development Life Cycle). Included would be the necessary change management effort to ensure the IT projects are implemented successfully with users and sponsors and meets the business need
? Liaise with all IT Vendors (Infrastructure and Software).
? Facilitate training sessions for the users where appropriate with the help of the PPS Training academy.
? Manage the IT Budget.

Desired Skills and Experience:

? Relevant working experience in IT Management position - 10 or more years of IT experience, preferably in multicultural environment
? Experience in the Sourcing Industry is highly preferred
? Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or the equivalent
? Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and problem-solving skills
? Self-motivated, positive attitude and able to work independently
