Purpose of the role How it supports Operation’s vision, mission and strategy | To provide service to customer and suppliers on sourcing, ordering, shipment and new product development. To proactively support Management, sub-ordinates and suppliers on day-to-day business activities. To continually source suppliers and product that fit the Pepkor PPS price and quality guidelines and to ensure on time delivery. | ||

Supplier management Critical Path | 40% | · Critical Path management and daily update of POM · Supplier and Product Matrix’s will be kept updated · CP will be set up and maintained · Supplier management and updating on product. · Continual communication with supplier to ensure correct information control. · Update to Merchandiser | · Efficient CP on time. · Supplier and Order KPI’s · Supplier performance - QVIC |
3. Operational | 25% | · Forward Spec packs to supplier · Set up order files and update. · Preparation of pre-trip packs, buying trip itineraries for buyers and supplier briefings. · Develop products (samples) to meet requirements of buyers. Presentation of final offer · Deliver a CP to ensure 100% on time. Provide reports to Buyers and Sourcing management · Order follow up – samples, fit sealing, testing etc. · Follow through on product details: artwork etc. · Supplier Visits and induction to Pepkor PPS ways of working | · CP results – achieved deadlines · Trip feedback from buyers · KPI’s · Supplier analysis |
4. Product | 20% | · FOB Pricing will be as requested targets, or better. · Will balance quality with Price. Price is main factor BUT NOT at expense of quality. · Samples to be checked against spec pack requirements · Identify minimum standards according to retailer guidelines – assist suppliers on understanding · Inform buyers of product information from supplier visits. | · FOB targets achieved – FOB KPI tracker · Fit approval KPI |

SECTION 1.2: Job incumbent requirements | EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, ORGANISATIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES | ||
EXPERIENCE | Minimum of 1 years’ experience in sourcing and buying environment. Relevant working experience and exposure to International markets and buyers | QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION | Relevant University or Tertiary education. (Textile and Design course, etc.) |
KNOW-HOW (SKILLS) | Computer skills – Microsoft Office; Negotiation skills; Written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) Relevant product knowledge inclusive of technical; Knowledge of sourcing practises Good communication skills and experience of working and visiting suppliers |
