Brief summary of position’s purpose or role – the primary objective of the role

The HPS Greater China Health, Safety and Environment Leader will provide subject matter expertise that assists the business in managing the risks associated with all operational aspects of the business.
Reporting to the AP ACS HSE Leader, you will deliver the ACS HSE Annual Operating Plan (AOP) whilst minimising risks to ensure long term sustainability of HPS Greater China across all Districts and Regions.

You will work towards developing an HSE performance culture that will differentiate HPS from our competitors and expand Honeywell’s reputation as a low risk provider.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Describe the key tasks / activities that are necessary to fulfil the purpose of the role – remember these actions should not be key “goals” – these should be reviewed and allocated annually as part of the performance development program

? Compliance to Honeywell corporate requirements and legislation
? Represent HPS Greater China in the Asia Pacific HSE team
? Establish relationships and processes with Greater China business managers to influence all employees to meet HSE goals and objectives
? Work with the AP HSE Leader to identify actions required to maintain HS&E Certification to OHSAS 18001:1999, ISO 14001
? Facilitate a change to HPS culture toward a safe working environment by enhancing the knowledge, skills and attitudes of Honeywell employees and Sub-contractors
? Advise management on HS&E matters as they affect all aspects of HPS in the Greater China region
? Audit Honeywell managed facilities to ensure we are compliant to statutory and corporate requirements and working to approved risk management plans. (Including Fire testing regulations, Cooling tower/water treatment testing, Lift inspections as per manufactures recommendation, etc)
? Assist in making HS&E a competitive differentiator for Honeywell in the marketplace
? Participate in and support the Crisis and Emergency Management Team
? Co-ordinate with AP HS&E leader for corporate compliance and event reporting
? Conduct regular and ongoing HSE reviews of projects and service contracts across Greater China.
? Work with the AP HSE Team as required advancing new programmes, processes and tools to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HSE practices.

Qualifications/ Experience/ Knowledge
Job Specifications General
(Define as “Essential” or “Preferred” and Qualify Statements as “Excellent”, “Good / Proficient” or “Basic)”

Education / Qualifications ? Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental or Engineering.
? Green belt certified or willing to become certified in first 12 months
Experience ? Minimum 3-5 years experience in a full time HSE role with demonstrated HSE experience.

Professional Skills / Knowledge ? A comprehensive knowledge of safety legislation and management systems
? Outstanding influencing and negotiation skills
? Demonstrable personal attributes to effectively communicate and influence all levels of employees and leadership
? Experienced in change management and continuous improvement projects
? Willing to travel regularly (usually domestic)
