The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the daily operation of the Asia Commercial Team and driving the growth & development of the Asia market and related product lines, in alignment with the Global Business Strategy. The Commercial Manager will be a member of Company's Sr. Operating Team, representing the Asia business and leading the business across the various multi-functional disciplines. This position reports to Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Responsibilities:
Establishes and assumes accountability for delivering the budgeted volume, revenue and MOM targets for Asia (China, Korea, and Japan).
Provides volume, revenue and price forecasts for Asia as required to effectively update the Latest Estimate (LE). Assures that the forecasts are both accurate and successfully met.
Oversee and make recommendations for regional marketing activities working closely with the Global Marketing and other regions to enhance growth initiatives within the region. Liaise with Global Marketing function to implement appropriate market and product strategy for all product lines within region. Supports local marketing efforts as required by global strategy for Asia.
Manage and lead the sales organization within Asia. Responsible for the performance and development of the regional sales team.
Ensure "shared service"Customer Service organization within Asia is effectively supporting all facets of the business.
Manage Asia Commercial Support/Product Management personnel to ensure our ability to support customer requirements is maintained at a high level. This position is a main contributor to functional interfaces with Operations and Supply Chain
Serves as a member of the Company Operating Team and in this role supports the development and communication of the Business Strategy, Market Segment Strategies, Account Strategies and Product Line Strategies.
Develops the annual Budget for Asia and defines tactics with clearly defined action plans, ownership and timing. Develop ability to track performance vs. Budget on a monthly basis. Assures that this plan aligns with the strategies developed by the Company Operating Team.
Prioritization of Technical Service activities within Asia
Understands the dynamics of customers, competitors and market segments within Asia and communicates this information within the global business team to drive decisions, direction and priorities.
Represents Senior Management at key accounts in Asia and identifies opportunities to enhance relationships at the Strategic Accounts by fostering interactions at the right levels between company personnel and these accounts.
Focuses efforts of the Asia organization on strategic and leveraging new business opportunities, both short and long-term.
Communicates the business strategy, tactical plans, business results, and other appropriate information with key stakeholders in the success for the Regional and Global business.
Measurably contributes to the development of a focused, accountable, team-based culture that gets results within Asia.
Perform other duties as required by line manager
Requirements:
? BA/BS degree or equivalent experience preferred
? Degree in Chemistry or other technical discipline is preferred
? Above 5 years proven sales experience + 5 years successful experience in a sales management role
? Experience in the chemicals industry is required.
? Experience in the pine chemicals industry is strongly preferred
? Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and other objectives
? Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
? Strong ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally within a matrix environment
? Strong leadership, planning and organization, problem solving and decision-making skills
? Technical background very desirable
? Thorough understanding of China markets
