Job Description: Wood Procurement Manager / Expeditor
Location: Fujian Province, China
Nature: Fulltime, Salaried
Reporting to: President
Overview of Company:
Company is a growing North American company who sources and manages the supply of wood based products to North American distributors. Working mostly in the Fujian province, this dynamic company continues to enjoy growth in its markets.
Job Description:
· Accountable for working directly with multiple wood suppliers to ensure that cost, delivery and quality outputs match or exceed customer requirements
· With senior management strategic guidance, responsible for negotiating lowest total cost contracts with suppliers and factories
· Overall responsibility for managing the customer’s wood order book and ensuring all products are delivered at contracted cost, on time and with quality that meets or exceeds customer requirements. This will include:
o being proactive and aggressive in working through supplier problems and potential delays,
o developing risk mitigation plans as necessary
o ensuring timelines and specifications are fully communicated to suppliers and total buy in is achieved
o formal and informal daily / weekly reporting to the North American team on order book issues / status
o Responsible for negotiating best possible prices and terms with our vendors and factories under management’s guidance
· Travel to suppliers regularly to negotiate, manage and review supplier progress and development
· Counsel and train suppliers on best working practices as required
· Other activities as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and 5+ years of business experience or purchasing management (Lumber/Wood products experience an asset).
Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English (written and verbal).
Experience with negotiations and costing expected. **Strong negotiation skills a must.
A proven track record of completing business dealing / interactions with utmost integrity and honesty
Computer literate with very good skills in Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Word etc.
Able to travel abroad to North America as needed for meetings and training.
Project management experience or credential would be an asset
