Infrastructure and end-user computing support

Provide technical support for network, servers, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripherals. This includes, but is not limited to the following activities:

• Correcting hardware and software problems with servers, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripherals; coordinating support with OEM vendors as needed
• Managing returns on warranted parts and systems
• Packaging and shipping hardware and replacement parts to remote users
• Installing, supporting and troubleshooting approved desktop software, following the Company’s established security policies, procedures and guidelines
• Assist in creating and maintaining images for standard systems
• Assist in performing Patch Management following the Company’s established schedule
• Analyze existing computer systems and problem trends and make proposals for updates and improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve local area networking issues to ensure client/server connectivity to the Corporate network
• Support and assist users with VPN connectivity and escalate to network support team as needed
• Ensure the timely and proper execution of other tasks and projects as instructed by the Global IT manager.

Assist with the implementation and enforcement of Lawter’s IT security policies.

• Lead by example and educate the end users in the area of IT security awareness.
• Ensure that the IT infrastructure has all security policies and updates applied
• Ensure that only approved software is installed
• Ensure that only approved devices and hardware are connected to the network
• Assist with investigations related to security incidents and suspicious events

Follow IT service management best practices

• Provide support in a timely and professional manner and - if needed - escalate on behalf of the end user to the appropriate technical personnel (internal and external), aiming for minimal business disruption and maintaining a high level of end user satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and service requests and their resolution in the global service desk tool.
• Communicate effectively with management, team members and end users.

Requirements:

?              Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

?              A+ Certification recommended, MCP preferred

?              5 - 7 years or more of related experience preferred

?             Ability to work independently and take ownership
?              Solid technical, analytical, and team skills required

?              Ability to manage IT / Desktop initiatives and organize on-site projects

?              Thorough knowledge of supported Microsoft Windows client/server operating systems

?              Experience with Active Directory administration

?              Thorough knowledge of installation, configuration, use and troubleshooting techniques of supported versions of Microsoft Office

?              Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with business with varying computer abilities

?              Experience troubleshooting intermediate complex local area network (LAN) and VPN connectivity issues

?              Working knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting VOIP phone system is preferred

?              Experience with installation, configuration and monitoring backup software
