工作职责:

ROLE SUMMARY

 This individual will be the Legal Lead in China, directly responsible and accountable for leading and managing the China legal team for the Biopharma business.  The successful candidate will support the Biopharma Leadership for Pfizer China and ensure first-class legal support to the commercial and enabling functions in China. This position reports directly to the Vice President and International Legal Lead for the Emerging Markets. 

Current or previous in-country and people management experience is required for the role and the successful candidate will be located with the main client at the Pfizer office in either Beijing or Shanghai (preferred)    

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizes, directs and leads a team of legal professionals in China to provide legal advice and support on ordinary and extraordinary legal matters to all Biopharma legal entities across all relevant business divisions and platform functions in order to support business initiatives, identify and resolve potential legal problems and minimize commercial exposure within the law.

Alerts management to issues of concern and ensures that Pfizer policies, laws, regulations & industry policies are adhered to and all Open Door and/or whistleblowing complaints are escalated/reported to the Compliance Team in a timely fashion.

Advises local corporate entities and "alert"s local Boards to potential legal issues of corporate concern, airing cross divisional issues, protecting corporate assets and contributing to risk management.  Sits on Board of Directors in China as relevant.

Gives direction to ensure the China legal team provides ethical, effective and commercially-oriented advice, while identifying/addressing exposure to risks of prosecution, litigation and/or reputational damage.

Provides innovative, business solution oriented legal counsel and advice for China matters, including those with significant enterprise level impact using a high level of business knowledge and understanding of the external environment.

Provides first-class legal support to the commercial operations in China including distribution, licensing, co-promotes, pricing, supply as well as key business transactions in China.

Stays current on legislative changes in China, global healthcare trends and other environmental issues related to the development, marketing and sale of pharmaceuticals and ensures that lawyers and clients are educated and informed about relevant legal issues and principles in order to pre-empt problems.

Accountable to build a high performing legal team with a strong culture that is fully integrated within the global legal team.

Ensures flawless, timely and proactive communications between the local market and the global legal team

General

Full member of the Emerging Markets Legal Leadership team, responsible for partnering with the International Legal Lead and other International Platform Leadership members in setting and executing strategy for the international platform, managing talent and building an ownership culture.

Leads using the Legal Division Commitments, embedding our shared priorities within the platform and creating an ownership culture where compliance is a priority. 

Leads or co-leads one or more of the 2019/2020 strategic priorities for the International  Legal Platform

任职资格:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed to practice in China

Minimum of 7 years of experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

Significant and broad experience of advising on commercial and corporate matters.  Strong drafting skills.

Substantial experience of working with compliance matters.

In depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Proven ability to cultivate strong client relationships, build credibility and successfully influence leadership in a fast paced business climate.

Strategic and proactive.  Anticipates needs and able to prioritize quickly. 

Role model for open/clear communication and interpersonal skills at all levels in the company.

Credible influencer.

Possesses a high energy level, sense of urgency, creativity, decisiveness, and ability to work well independently or in a team and under pressure.

Management skills: track record in developing legal staff and dealing appropriately with performance issues.

Track record of managing a budget.

Demonstrated experience and success in managing and working within a complex matrixed environment.

Experienced decision maker who builds accountability within the team while appropriately communicating and escalating critical business issues.  Enterprise mindset; able to prioritize without bias.

A leader who role models the Legal Division Commitments and is capable of helping to drive the type of division and culture we want to create.

Fluent in English with strong written and oral communication skills.

Strategic Thinker who knows how to manage resources and deploy them efficiently and in a budget conscious manner
