Responsibilities:

Environmental, Health & Safety

1. Ensure compliance to Company EH&S procedures and statutory requirements in all activities.
2. Maintain required safety and security standards and ensure good maintenance of all plant equipment, tools, and other Company for which responsible.
3. Participate in appropriate EH&S groups and actively contribute to HAZOP studies of new projects or modifications.
4. Ensure operating efficiency of all areas of the plant and compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Process Engineering

1. Conduct business activities in accordance with Company policy and statutory requirements.
2. Create and design plant and equipment, prepare working drawings, specification, instruction and parts manuals and procurement advice and supervise technical aspects of manufacturing processes.
3. Liaise with engineering services and contractors in researching / managing projects
4. Examine, analyze and report on malfunction, breakdown or failures of mechanical plant or components to determine cause and remedy.
5. Provide support to internal and external clients in the optimization of performance of plant and equipment.
6. Study operating requirements for mechanically functioning plant and equipment and contribute to research and development work.
7. Maintain awareness of current market and technology trends to maximize opportunities and minimize risk.
8. Maintain confidentiality of customer, supplier and company information.
9. Direct associates within company policies in relation to engineering issues.
10. Monitor Plant performance and provide regular reports as required.
11. Prepare and submit operating cost and production reports together with recommendations for continuous improvement.
12. Assist in the development and prioritizing of the capital plan

Regulatory Affairs

1. Represent Lawter in regulatory affairs issues as appropriate.
2. Manage legislative requirements pertaining to plant engineering requirements and maintain accurate data.
3. Manage implementation of appropriate Company regulatory programs.
4. Maintain high level of knowledge and awareness of regulatory standards and regulations

Performance of other duties as required by supervisor.

Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent discipline is required.
2. Sound knowledge of operations in the Chemical Industry, with 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required, experience in the Chemicals Industry is preferred
3. Working knowledge of legislation and regulations relevant to the manufacturing environment and chemical industry.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills are required, in both Chinese and English.
5. Proven ability to work in a highly demanding environment dealing with conflicting priorities that require initiative, flexibility and adaptability
6. Demonstrated project management experience.
