Job Summary
The LCL-CFS Manager executes the corporate and Greater China LCL strategy in cooperation with the global network partners, steering volumes, managing buying rates and validating selling rates to maximize net revenue of the LCL product.
The primary purposes of this role are:
? To plan and manage demand and supply in order to maximize gross profit and achieve growth targets
? To define and agree, with Corporate ocean freight and BD, on actions required to improve consolidation and to meet agreed volume targets.
? To negotiate local contracts with co-loader in-line with Product and Carrier strategy (Ocean Freight LCL and FCL)
? To ensure effective relationship and regular performance management of co-loader
? To optimize CEVA China's Cost of Sales for Ocean Freight LCL
? To optimize CEVA China's Cost of Sales for CFS operation
? To ensure effective CFS operator relationship and regular performance management of CFS operators.
Key Tasks
LCL Management
? Define a Northern/Southern China strategy that supports Corporate Product Strategy.
? Provide input to Director Ocean Freight and General Manager Ocean Freight as required
? Provide investment plan / risk analysis for the implementation of new consol box services
? Analyze cargo flows, consol benefit, load factors, , net-achieved; agree corrective actions with branches and regional LCL product execution thereof
? Liaise with overseas partners to develop on consol box
? Develop short- term network plans within network strategy to react to market conditions/requirements (network disruptions, contingency planning); align /agree plans with Product Management
? Maintain close collaboration with corporate/regional LCL management
? Enforce compliance with OEM utilization targets
Market Rates
? Validate Market Selling Rates and propose to BD
? Own central buying rate repository; ensure up-to-date
? Provide full visibility of net rates , to allow efficient first round bidding; support Tender Management regarding rate- and service-related questions
? Check on competitiveness of LCL RFQ bids and coordinate closely with branches and AP LCL leader
? Review regularly with branches the competiveness of origin charges
? Review regularly with branches and CG trucking charges
Procurement
? Enforce compliance with Ocean Freight LCL Carrier Strategy and Route Network Grid
? Procure shipping services in accordance with CPC (own box)
? Procure shipping service in accordance with LCL strategy (co-loader)
? Procure CFS services
? Perform pricing analysis/benchmarking and resolve branch concerns (e.g. better pricing / selection of carriers, co-loaders and strategic vendors)
? Provide analysis and recommendations to Corporate Tender Management on buying rates, consolidation opportunities, and network constraints in cooperation with regional LCL product
Subcontractor Management
? Monitor and measure CFS operators
? Develop and maintain strong relationship with CFS operators
? Monitor and measure carrier and co-loader ; track local performance reviews and consolidate performance feedback for global review meetings
? Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and co-loaders
Decision Making Authority
Network & Capacity Management
? Short term network and infrastructure changes in sync with network strategy and in collaboration with the regional LCL management
? Short term prioritization of customers in case of recurring capacity shortages in line with sales guidelines and after consultation with BD
Procurement
? CFS sourcing
? Negotiating and contracting with co-loader, as per Competence Sharing Agreement
? Approval of local rate agreements as per competence sharing agreement
