Job Responsibilities:
Internal (Nike Liaison Office) ~25%
? Consistently demonstrate a clear linkage between local business strategies and Global Lean 2.0 within the NIKE Liaison Office in your country.
? Be an effective member of the Nike Liaison Office leadership team.
? Work with Lean Master/Senior Lean Coach to develop the implementation of a country focused lean manufacturing strategy and plan.
? Participate in, co-ordinate and/or facilitate in-country business review meetings such as QBR’s, Strategic Metrics calibrations, A3 alignment, strategic planning sessions, etc.
? Collaborate laterally with internal key business functions such as Production, Quality, Engineering ops, Product ops, Supply Planning, HRM, etc. to drive factory operational excellence.
? Coach LO functional leaders and their teams to elevate their lean capabilities by embedding Lean thinking, driving business results.
? Develop, align and clearly communicate Lean team priorities and results.
Factory Facing (Manufacturing Partners) ~75%
? Proactively communicate to your manager and within functional team to ensure that learning’s, best practices and standards are shared and adopted where applicable.
? For your assigned area of responsibility, you will lead the practical application of Lean 2.0 within our contract manufacturing environment.
? Engage with factory/group leadership and with the relevant factory teams to understand their factory-specific strategic and tactical plans to ensure Lean is leveraged as a key enabler for business performance and progress measured appropriately.
? Engage with factory leadership to ensure they have the right people and investments in place that demonstrate an established and effective Lean Management System.
? Coach factory functional leaders and their teams to elevate their lean capabilities by embedding Lean thinking, driving business results.
? Provide support to cross functional teams to achieve specific tangible results in the path of work, i.e. Modernization, Lean 2.0 (Foundation Strengthening, Prototyping), etc.
? Engage with factory leadership to ensure all performance driven Lean data is made available in order to unlock business value for both Nike and the factory
? Plan, facilitate and conduct local lean forums to share learnings and best practices within the manufacturing source base.
Stakeholder Engagement:
? Be able to work in a highly complex matrix environment with internal and external stakeholders.
? Collaborate and partner with Senior Lean Coaches and Lean Coaches to collectively support offshore manufacturing locations of designated factory groups.
? Has experience and skill to influencing external manufacturing partners and drive to a win-win outcome.
? Maintain cross-functional alignment within and across the Nike organization within your country as appropriate.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have fundamental level knowledge of lean concepts, principles and tools. In addition the candidate will possess a personal portfolio of relevant lean tools, techniques in operational and non-operational environment. Be able to effectively apply Lean methodology at the gemba.
Experience:
? Minimum 4 years of practical lean experience leading, influencing and executing Lean plans at the gemba.
? Demonstrated and proven ability to coach and lead change effectively across a wide range of cultures engaging with internal and external functional management teams.
? Lean systems education will have been received from a reputable source such as TSSC (Toyota Supplier Support Center), Shingijutsu Consulting, Danaher, or other reputable companies that have the recognition for being successfully operating a Lean enterprise.
? Implementation experience of following techniques (but not limited) is required: A3 thinking, VSM, Kaizen (motion, machine, etc.), SMED, Cellular Manufacturing, TPM.
? In addition, exposure to the following concepts is preferred: Hoshin, System Design, 3P, Lean Management Systems.
Education:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
? Master’s in Business or a related technical field is preferred.
? Additional professional experience within business, engineering, and/or supply chain is a plus.
Attributes/Skills:
? Strong influencing skills with the ability to motivate and influence others across all levels of the organization. Willingness & ability to lead by example and to take up responsibility to achieve business results.
? Having the ability to communicate effectively from leadership level all the way down to the gemba.
? Flexible to accommodate travel (domestic & international) – up to 10% (to be updated country/engine).
