Position
Job title: Product Designer
Reports to: Senior Quality Engineer Manager
Projects assigned by: Group Manager Product & Engineering
 
Job Role
Reverse engineer existing door hardware products.
Expected tasks:-
o Analyse samples supplied by regional general managers.
o Create part drawings of each parts.
o Work with Nanjing purchasing team to obtain confirmation of suppliers ability and costs.
o Produce cost estimate and timeline summary report and obtain approval to proceed.
o Work with Nanjing purchasing team to obtain parts. In particular resolve any engineering or quality issues.
o Work with Nanjing manufacturing and quality team to develop Centor production capability.
o Assess and confirm that the finished product performs in the same manner as the original sample.

Designer’s attitude
Attitude & ability is more important that window and door design knowledge.

Design skills
Degree qualification in engineering or industrial design.
A minimum of 5 years experience working in manufacturing companies taking product from concept to production.
Good practical understanding of how parts fit together.
Good practical understanding of thetechnologies used by Centor’s suppliers;
o Aluminium extrusion
o Metal machining
o Stainless steel investment casting
o Timber moulding
o Plastic injection moulding
o Plastic extrusion
o Zinc die casting
o Hardware assembly
o Door and frame assembly
                       The finishes used by Centor are:
o Painting aluminium – powder and wet
o Wood finishing
o Anodising
o PVD
o Brushing
Proficient with SolidWorks 3D CAD.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred but a working knowledge of bills of materials and product costing expected.
Ability to build prototypes and assemble finished goods into simulated doors to assess performance. 举报 分享

Workstation to be set-up with new PCs, SolidWorks, Adobe suite, Microsoft Office.
