Describe the main function and scope of the job and the contribution that is expected:
This position supports the existing water team in China, working as part of a wider multi disciplinary team. The role will be to work closely with internal and external clients on all aspects of our water / environment projects delivering high quality products on time and on budget.

This position promotes a culture of ‘Safety First’, and ensures H&S Regulations and internal policies are adhered to in day-to-day work; working in a safe manner and challenging co-workers, including non Arcadis staff, if actions appear unsafe.

On the job technical training will be provided but graduate level knowledge of key technical services (such as water and wastewater assessments, infrastructure integrity assessments, wastewater treatment optimization and design, as well as other environmental aspects) will be an advantage.

Support development of proposals, reporting, and client interaction with the guidance from the management as required.

Describe the five key responsibilities in priority order and allocate the percentage of time expected to be spent on each responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: % Time
1. Gaining experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures and developing a skills and knowledge base. This will include keeping up to date with relevant Environmental / Water Legislation, Policy and Guidance etc; 5%
2. Becoming familiar with Arcadis’ safety procedures to promote a culture of Safety First and ensuring H&S issues are adhered to in your day to day role; 5%
3. Analysing data effectively and undertaking desk-based studies and site visits and site-based works, when required; 10%
4. Water and wastewater assessments; including undertaking site investigations, data collection, water sampling and in situ testing; 30%
5. Environmental site assessments; including undertaking site investigations, data collection, soil and groundwater sampling and in situ testing; 30%
6. Completing project documents to the high standard Arcadis requires in accordance with project timescales and budget, client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice and supporting senior colleagues as and when required. 20%

Relevant Experience:
Essential
＞0 years, but ＜3 years work experience on water / environmental projects
Conducted projects in the field, with data collection and associated reporting

Undertaken water and environmental assessments
Participated to design work for wastewater treatment processes

Education and Qualifications:
Essential
Bachelor degree in Environmental Science or Engineering (or similar subject)
Desirable
Master degree in Environmental Science or Engineering (or similar subject).
