· Independently conduct assigned research projects using existing or novel scientific methods with guidance from senior researchers or supervisor. Working in conjunction with the Group Leader or R & D Manager.

· Plan and conduct creative research programs or individual experiments.

· Conduct applied research and development that require knowledge of a number of disciplines, to improve or develop sensors, data acquisition and processing systems, control algorithms and devices for different industrial processes.

· The role offers a challenging work environment, opportunities for collaboration with Researchers located globally in our Naperville (USA), Houston (USA) and Leiden (The Netherlands) facilities. The role also offers great opportunities for working closely with our customers and for field problem solving.

Requirements:

• MS or PhD in electronic engineering, instrument science & technology, sensor technology or industrial automation.
• A successful candidate should meet at least one of the following requirements of expertise.

1. Good at application oriented industrial automatic engineering system design. Familiar with commercial sensor evaluation and selection, PLC based control logic design and programming, industrial communication and/or Human Machine Interface design and implementation.

2. Solid background of embedded system hardware and software design; Familiar with hardware architecture, embedded software development, and data acquisition/processing systems.

• Excellent written and oral English communication skills are required.
• Good teamwork manner and proactive work attitude.
• Direct experience on development of commercialized instrument/sensors/industrial automation system is a plus. Project executing experience would be preferred.
• Foreign study/work experience is a plus.
