Role Summary/Purpose
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and leading the supplier strategy for sourcing products and services for the assigned Regional Commodity purchasing. Strategically, the role requires driving and developing comprehensive strategic relationships through strong technical/market expertise. This includes setting, continuously refining and executing the long-term sourcing strategy for the assigned Global Purchase Family, Regional Commodity.
Essential Responsibilities
• Driving the sourcing strategy that delivers a competitive advantage including implementation of the strategic supplier initiatives. This includes supplier selection, qualification, development, and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance.
• Leading Regional Commodity specific sourcing with full accountability for meeting material deflation targets by setting strategic direction for global or regional sourcing professionals.
• Developing strategies and driving supplier performance to meet the quality, fulfillment and productivity requirements.
• Partnering with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced material and services meet the needs of the business.
• Leading a team of sourcing professional to meet the sourcing and business requirements of the assigned Commodity purchasing.
• Supporting Supplier Quality Program, ensuring supplier compliance with FDA, EHS, transportation and other regulatory and reputation requirements.
• Drive supplier technology growth and support dynamic NPI and localization needs, drive continuous China supplier growth in efficiency and cost competitive.
Qualifications/Requirements
Quality Specific Goals:
• Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
• Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
• Proficient knowledge and understanding of GEHC Purchasing Controls Procedure and associated Work Instructions and operates within them to ensure that all purchased product and services conform to specified requirements.
• Lead the development and maintaining of fully qualified and compliant supply base.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Finance
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain and/or Commercial background
3. Excellent business/financial acumen, proficient in leading and setting direction for teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization
4. Excellent growth leadership skills demonstrating clear global perspective and understand factors impacting GEHC businesses and our suppliers
5. Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of time
6. Influence/communication - establishes good relationships; drives change across functional & global boundaries
7. Good command of English , able to conduct communication with global effectively
Desired Characteristics
1. Master in Business Administration
2. 10 years solid sourcing, supply chain or commercial experience including 6 years in a leadership capacity.
3. Extensive global experience leading cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams
4. Proven Executive Leadership skills in driving Global change across an organization, including strong Change Acceleration Process skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead courageously, maintaining a strong position amidst opposition to resolve important issues, and ability to navigate through a large complex business.
