1. Key areas of responsibility:
Benchmarking: “We can learn from anyone culture, borrow ideas from the best and protect our owns”
- Coordinates benchmarking activities within LED Systems in Shanghai
- Advices for benchmarking targets selection: fair, literature, magazine, internet, patents, etc.
- Organizes (with Purchasing, Marketing, others entities) the procurement of samples for evaluation.
- Organizes and prioritizes (selected) product evaluation (if required at internal laboratories such ) and reports findings (performance, assembly, costs, IP, compliance to standards, comparison to our products, etc. Issues a technical report presenting clearly the evaluation results.
o Photometry and electric evaluation
o Product technical highlights: mechanical construction, optics, drivers, LEDs, etc.
o Product cost structure insights

- Writes a monthly summary condensing the results and observed evolution and trends; indicates key companies (competition) novelties. Maintains up-to-date records of all product samples, testing, timing, etc.
- Participates in the monthly TC for alignment of product benchmarking activities(and Professional Luminaires). Stays informed on activities running at other sites.
- Organizes for sharing key information that helps other organizations to sharpen their strategy: market highlights, technology trends, novelties, new competitors, etc.
- Maintains and improves benchmark database and benchmarking newsletter: competitor survey, highlights, product classification, etc
- - Visit fairs, internet search, patents, commercial catalogues etc. to find/ focus benchmarking targets
- Propose/ create/ maintain a presentation (products, leaflets) cabinet for competition products
- Participates (ad hoc) in Value Engineering sessions.

2. Requirements:
- Bachelor or master degree, preferably in electric/ electronics engineering
- General knowledge, curiosity in LEDs (especially in Lighting applications)
- Proven ability to work in a business environment, relation with other departments
- Rigorous, structure and strong analytical skills with ability to work in teams and effectively
- Ability to organize complex activities
- Creative, independent judgment, high integrity and work dedication, leadership skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Good English communication skills (English technical reporting)
- Advanced capability with spreadsheets and presentation software
- Software: MS Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, IT Database, SharePoint
