The Assistant Installation and Commissioning Manager is normally assigned to a specific project and is responsible for the Installation and Commissioning of all company supplied equipment as defined by the project’s Supply Contract. Organizational wise, Assistant I&C Manager reports to China I&C Manager.
Operational wise, Assistant I&C Manager reports to I&C Manager for relevant project.
? Works with the company Projects Manager (PM) to develop the company Site Acceptance Plan based upon project specific requirements. This plan encompasses (but is not limited to) the following: project installation and commissioning schedules, personnel schedules, equipment requirements and general logistical requirements. Comm schedules are based on yards EC/MC dates.
? Maintain overall responsibility for the equipment and operational responsibility of the personnel supplied by company during the Installation, Mechanical Completion, Start Up and Commissioning Phases of the project. I&C Manager ensures the future success of the NOV Equipment by implementing a thorough commissioning program and closely coordinating the handover of responsibility for a project from the Project Management Group to the applicable Ncompany Service Organization.
? The I&C Manager is responsible for ensuring that project specific contractual requirements related to installation and commissioning activities are fulfilled.
? Support the I&C Manager in other ways as he may direct in all NOV related business.

? Strong Management and leadership skills
o Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a rapidly developing environment, as well as the experience, judgment, and initiative to assume responsibility, make decisions, and take appropriate actions to ensure the successful installation and commissioning of NOV supplied equipment.
o Be able to take charge of large groups of company personnel with little or no daily supervision. The candidate must be able to create and maintain a team atmosphere comprised of individuals from many organizations, of who do not work for the I&C Manager organizational wise.
? Candidate must possess strong planning skills. The I&C Manager must understand the basics of planning and be able to create, modify, maintain and implement an Installation and Commissioning Schedule
? Candidate must possess strong organizational skills.
? Candidate must possess very strong communication skills. It is imperative that all candidates have the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively. English writing and oral skills must be good.
? Must be enthusiastic and self-disciplined
? Candidate must be a self-starter, well organized, and have the ability to exercise good judgment and work independently.
? Must have the ability to work independently under pressure (function independently as well as with a team)
? Candidate must possess a fair degree of automation/IT skills, should be comfortable in Word, Excel, Project, Access and Outlook at a minimum
? Candidate should be familiar with the various pieces of company Equipment (all product groups). The depth of this knowledge should allow the candidate to plan for the installation and commissioning of the equipment by identifying what has to be done, how long will it take, what the outside influences that effect the equipment are, etc.
? Candidate must be willing to work in an international shipyard environment where the normal workweek consists of seven 12-hour days and must be willing to be flexible in terms of both daily hours and rotation schedule in order to meet the needs of the project.
? Candidate must also be prepared to fill in on other Installation and Commissioning jobs located throughout China as required. This position may require the need for travel to various locations and as such all candidates must be able to accommodate extensive travel.
? Bachelor’s degree with a major in Business Management or/and Engineering.
? 5 years Management experience preferably with a multi-national Chinese company or Foreign Owned Enterprise.
