Objectives:

The Technical Projects Assistant Manager, Asia Pacific is responsible for facilitating accelerated commercialization of Clean Air technologies from the BASF Catalyst Division. The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Development Manager, Asia Pacific, as well as the technical and engineering team in North America, to execute on business development and sales opportunities in the Asia Pacific Region. 

 

Main Tasks:

• Handle technical inquires on existing product portfolio, including but not limited to the following: consultation to first-line technical inquiries on products and applications and catalyst sizing, author technical proposals to request for quotations, trouble-shoot in the field, and conduct technical and commercial discussion with existing and new customers.
  


• Technical support at customer sites, including supervising catalyst installations and removes, observing operations, reviewing operation data and provide comments, resolving technical customer issues, coordinating with others as appropriate, to develop and implement corrective action plans.
  


• Provide technical support to the Business Development Manager to commercialize new technologies and addressing new market opportunities. 
  


• Travel: for catalyst installation, customer visits, and trade shows and conferences. Up to 35% of the time
  

 

Requirements:

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a Science or Engineering field is required. A PhD in Science / Engineering is not required, but would be desirable.
  


• Strong technical experience in catalysis, preferably in environmental catalysis, air pollution control, or related technologies.
  


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial catalysis with minimum of 2 years of experience in customer facing roles
  


• Previous experience within environmental control technologies and a process or project engineering role in an industrial plant environment is highly desired.
  


• Fluency in technical and business English is a must to be effective in this role and one other Asian language considered additional asset.
