A top 100 ASX listed company; with 65 stores Australia wide is looking for a Quality Control Inspector - Apparel to join the Shanghai Global Sourcing Office Team. Myer strategic growth plans for the next five years has a significant store expansion program and growth in our exclusive brand offer. To support this strategic direction Global Sourcing Offices are being established in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

As the Quality Control Inspector - Apparel you will be an integral part of the Quality Assurance / Control Team reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance. Your key responsibilities will be to ensure samples meet the required standards and provide solution to any quality issues that may arise. A key part of this role is to provide technical advice to Merchandisers, suppliers and other customers. Monitoring the performance of the suppliers / factories and ensuring the product returns are within industry tolerances.

Key job tasks/duties/responsibilities:

·Assess samples to ensure they meet the standards as per the specifications

·Provide written reports including solutions to quality issues

·Ensuring Products meet the mandatory merchandise compliance requirements

·Ensure effective processes are in place to minimize the company product liability claims

·Provide technical advice to Merchandisers, suppliers and other customers

·Communicate with suppliers on all technical issues

·Monitor supplier / factory performances and communicate back to the Merchandisers

·Work closely with Australian Quality Assurance Team to maintain a high level of merchandise acceptance

To be successful in this role you will need:

·Demonstrated experience working with manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors in high-end brands or designer brands

·Excellent written and oral communication skills

·Good communication skills to enhance supplier and buying office engagement

·Proficiency in Microsoft Office

·Experience in quality management systems

·Experience in manufacturing and production audits

·Ability to develop a working knowledge of relevant legislative requirements

·A high level of attention to detail

·A confident and proactive work ethic

·Strong organization skills

·Ability to prioritize workloads

·Tertiary qualification, degree in the related discipline, or at least 2 years prior experience in Quality Assurance / Control related to consumer products
