The Position

As the Diabetes Care organization moves towards a new operating model and separate legal entity status designed to secure our market leadership through increased autonomy and speed, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Lead RDC Finance for Roche Diabetes Care in China. If you are successful, you will have the strong prospect of becoming Finance Manager for the newly established local affiliate. As Project Lead you will, along with the other project team members, initially play a key role in shaping and establishing the local affiliate as well as ensuring effective implementation of the new SAP system for DC.

As a Finance manager, you will report to the Head of DC and be a Member of the DC Leadership Team. Acting as the Company’s “financial conscience”, you will be responsible for establishing strong financial governance, partnering with the business to craft and execute value-enhancing decisions and to drive operational efficiencies. You will lead and develop a finance team to meet the needs of the business including the provision of timely and high quality performance information to the business to enable effective decision making.

• Be a Finance Business Partner to the DC Affiliate Head and to other members of the affiliate leadership team (provide insight and challenge to commercial and functional strategies and plans, produce business cases, and identify profit improvement, investment, resource allocation, asset utilization opportunities and compliance risks).


• Manage key stakeholders (Regional Commercial & Finance Management, DC global function heads, etc.).


• Manage the services provided by external parties (Finance shared service center, MI Centre of Excellence, local service providers for tax compliance & statutory accounting, travel & expense processing, etc.).


• Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance team; Review and approve the submissions of Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting.


• Assume accountability for all Finance services and processes performed locally including Credit Management, Billing & AR, Treasury & Cash Management, Master Data Management, Document Management, Indirect Procurement and Facilities Management, etc.

It will be essential to have 5-7 years post qualification experience, with several years’ experience in a comparable position with legal entity responsibility within an international business. Experience of sales & marketing, pharmaceuticals industry and/or FMCG would be advantageous.

Bachelor Degree in Appropriate discipline would be desirable.

You are also a qualified accountant – preferably CPA/ACA

Very good command of Mandarin and English
