职位描述

JOB SUMMARY

The Planning Manager, China is responsible for driving topline sales and gross margin (% & ¥) by optimizing product opportunities in China market, and manage company inventory to optimal levels. He or she works with Merchandising, Production, and all Business Units to develop and execute brand relevant strategies to deliver financial goals and to manage Basic replenishment programs in each product category and optimize China Basic inventory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MERCHANDISE CONTROL

- Support Merchandising team to develop corporate merchandising strategies and drive topline sales, gross margin (% & ¥) from China business stand point.

- Prepare China weekly and monthly product performance and analyze reporting.

- Support the implementation of processes to provide product performance analysis and recommendations in partnership with Merchandising and each BU, such as:

- Pre-Season/Pre-Market hindsight

- Post-Market business opportunity

- In-Season business opportunity

- After-season hindsight (monthly/season)

- Demonstrate product performance analysis excellence by using key merchandising metrics such as POS Sales, Shipment Sales, Penetration, TY/LY/LLY, Seasonality, Build, APS, Product attributes, SKU productivity, Inventory Turn, WOH, WOS, Sell-Through, Sales/Inventory Ratio, GMROI, etc.


MERCHANDISING PLANNING

- Develop China Open to Buy (OTB) on a quarterly basis in partnership with all Business Units and Merchandising team. Identify risks and opportunities by season and BU across key metrics such as sales, inventory and margin.

- Manage monthly Basics replenishment processes and calendars in partnership with Merchandising and Production to maximize global sales and deliver inventory efficiencies globally. Support BUs to deliver accurate key item forecasts at the product dept/style/color/SKU levels.

- Analyze and assess seasonal buys at the topline and by each BU to ensure inventory commitments are positioned to deliver financial goals. Proactively call out risks and opportunities to hit financial goals and recommend action plans.

- Prepare long-range product projections for material production and factory capacity planning to support Production initiatives.



INVENTORY & LIABILITY MANAGEMENT

- In partnership with BU Planners, Merchandising, and Finance teams, analyze and assess company inventory & liability at present and in the future based on current on-hands inventory, future inventory buys, latest sales forecast, and business development plans.

- Facilitate the utilization of excess seasonal inventory in partnership with Merchandising and BUs to minimize liable inventory through brand appropriate exit strategies.

- Partner with the Merchandising team to create action plans to mitigate risk and optimize opportunities across all business units and product categories.


SALES ANALYSES AND FINANCIAL ACUMEN

- Analyze selling and make suggestions to improve assortments, take markdowns, etc…

- Work closely with cross functional teams to drive sales and achieve financial target

- Monitor the sales performance and participate in cost setting


CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

- Work with planning team to provide feedback on open to buy

- Work in partnership with Corporate Buying team to manage local process in accordance with guidance and company direction

- Work closely with Head of Retail to have the right buying for each store, according to client profile


EDUCATION, PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED

- Bachelor Degree holder with 5+ years of experience in merchandising planning roles within fashion industry.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and manage priorities to meet deadlines

- Strong planning, communication and presentation skills. Command of retail math concepts and applications.

- Sound business acumen and retail numerical sense, detailed mind with strong analytical skills

- Excellent command in English & Chinese

- Advanced Excel skills required. Knowledge in Power Point, JDA/Arthur, & Microstrategy preferred
