About Us

Customized Bioprocess Solutions (CBS), is part of the Bioprocess product marketing organization within Biotechnologies P&L within GEHC Life Sciences. CBS focus on customized process hardware solutions. The department is responsible for mechanical/automation and system design and project execution. Today there are approx. 20 people working for CBS. Linked to the team is also a global sales support function that supports sales and CBS with quotations for the customized solutions.
CBS designs and develops customized large-scale hardware solutions within chromatography columns/systems and membrane separations systems. The equipment is delivered to customers all over the world.
CBS intends to start up a similar organization in China, for the local market but long term also for other markets outside China.

Essential Responsibilities

• Overall design responsibility during execution of customer or GE internal projects
• Ensure that applicable customer URS requirements are tracked and fulfilled
• Regulatory fulfillment of delivered products
• Represent GE in technical discussions with customers during a project
• Participate in meetings at customer site when required
• Visit and participate in customer audits of sub suppliers (Support QA)
• Investigate complaints cases and address Corrective And Preventive Actions.
• Coordinate the detailed design and solve any issues during the design phase
• Approval of test plans
• Chair technology review meetings
• Support to the sales support team during the quotation phase
• Provide the design conditions to mechanical engineer and automation control engineer.
• Support suppliers to system assembly and quality control.
• Optimize the system design to improve the cost and productivity.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or above (Mechanics/Electrics/Chemical)
Required Work Experience
• Master with 5+ years’ experience or Bachelor with 8+ years’ experience in process industry working with basic/detail design.

• Fluent in written and verbal English and Chinese is mandatory.
• Customer focus – deliver in time and constantly meet customer expectations.
• Good integrity. Able to speak his/her mind openly and get the message across.
• Experience with external customer contacts, working in an international environment
• Good Computer Skills
• Able and willing to work in customers’ site or supplier’s site
• Project Experience in Bio-pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, or Food & Beverage would be a plus.
• Prepared to travel often inside or outside China
• Project experience in Bio-pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, or Food & Beverage would be a plus
