Duties & Responsibilities

• The primary responsibility is to provide infrastructure architecture deliveries in Asia Pacific. Infrastructure architecture aims to transform and optimize the AIG infrastructure within Asia Pacific and align to global standards and Asia Pacific business objectives.
• Provides expertise to identify and translate system requirements into design documentation.
• Work with multiple teams to create business appropriate infrastructure solutions (Storage, Servers, Facility, End User Computing, Message DBA, Systems Administration, Networks, Voice)
• Document high level architectural designs and perform reviews of infrastructure solutions as they to relate to the overall architecture
• Identify bottlenecks, single points of failure, weaknesses, restrictions, and security concerns imposed by IT infrastructure solution and outlining best solutions to resolve the issues or mitigation approaches to minimize issues
• Should be able to work with project teams to ensure that the technical architecture of the delivered solution matches customer requirements
• Advocates and enforces applicable standards, policies, procedures, and best practices in the implementation and/or maintenance of infrastructure
• Collaborate on the creation, implementation of standards and common designs within infrastructure with the technical teams & formalize design acceptance requirements
• Utilize existing infrastructure within design in pragmatic ways to ensure prudent changes are made which remediate current issues or improve business benefits.
• Moderate and govern infrastructure designs and proposals with AIG GS technical towers, AIG Account team and AIG Asia Pacific Business Unit architecture team
• Oversight of high and low level solution design ensuring architectural integrity and compliance with standards. Ensure solutions meet functional and technical requirements as measured by on-going maintenance, cost, performance, scalability, and compliance with technology standards
• Creation of architecture and solution design documentation, taking into consideration;
• Architecture governance review presentations
• Infrastructure detailed design request artifacts (such as firewall rules, IP addresses, host names, load balancing requests, storage requests, server requests etc)
• Infrastructure solution cost estimates
• Representation of infrastructure architecture solution at various Architecture governance review boards by presenting the solution to global architecture review team and explaining how the solution meets the business requirements and is aligned with AIG infrastructure architecture standards.

Must Have Experience

§ Minimum of 10 years professional experience

§ At least 8 years of infrastructure experience from a large scale enterprise (1000+ users) within one of the following fields

§ System Integrator

§ Telecom

§ Datacenter hosting or Technology vendor (Storage, Servers, Network)

§ Finance or insurance

§ Application Development

§ Cloud provider

§ At least 5 years of experience of participating in or leading technical delivery in infrastructure projects

§ At least 3 years of infrastructure system design (analysis, development & implementation) or equivalent experience. Must demonstrate:

§ Basic understanding on the use cases, benefits, and challenges within server computing, networks, storage, middleware and end user computing.

§ Familiarity with fundamental networking & distributed computing environment concepts

§ Evaluate technical options, including criteria and trade-offs

§ Ability to write and present technical justifications for system designs

§ Ability to create and deliver technical presentations to technical and non-technical staff on system design

§ Proven execution skills in an international company, working with diverse technical stakeholders

§ Excellent oral presentation and writing skills

§ Strong communication skills in English (written & oral)

§ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.

Must Have Technical Skills

§ IT domain knowledge from two or more of the below domains:

§ Middleware – Web Application Servers, Databases, ETL, EAI, ESB, Messaging etc

§ Compute – Hypervisors (LPAR, VMWare etc.), Operating systems (Windows, AIX, RHEL, Solaris), Hardware (Power, x86 etc.)

§ End User Computing –Virtual Desktops (Citrix), Collaboration tools, System Management, Active Directory

§ Network –WANs, LANs & Network Virtualization

§ Telecom – Call Centers, PBX etc

§ Storage – SAN, NAS, Backup, WORM

§ Security – Application Level Security, IDS, IDM, WAF etc,

Like to Have Skills & Experience

§ Experience within Insurance industry

§ Experience within multinational IT organization

§ Hands on experience with infrastructure installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting infrastructure

§ Hands on experience with systems administration: management, monitoring, security, backup, archiving

§ Hands on experience with middleware or identity managements systems

§ TOGAF or other related architecture certification

Language skills relevant to region (Chinese, Cantonese, etc.)
