Duties & Responsibilities

Main duties of the Product Development Manager are listed below：

• Serve as the single point of contact for the CIRC and centrally handle the filing of all new products for all Product Towers with CIRC;
• To ensure regulatory compliance of both new and existing products in terms of product development and product filing, keeping current with relevant CIRC regulations and potential changes thereto;
• To implement and maintain Product Development and Filing related policies and procedures, ensure that the policies and procedures are kept up-to-date and compliant to both internal and external requirements;
• To support closely the governance and implementation of P&C Global Product Development Policy of AIG;
• To coordinate and ensure necessary information is readily available as per requested by CIRC or required by CIRC regulations;
• Facility and prioritize internal sources to meet business needs of product towers and regulation requirements effectively;
• Provide value added services and support to product towers in market research, product innovation, product enhancement, product launch and after launch monitoring etc.
• Support Product Development Governing bodies such as the Product Development Committee and the Risk & Capital Committee.
• Supervise the Product Development specialist on these duties;

Key Measuring Parameters

• Ensure both regulatory and internal compliance in product filing;
• Support Product Towers to smooth the product filing process;
• Manage product filing related risk within the appetite;
• Smooth communication with regulators, product towers and product related supporting functions; Ensure new product launch procedure is well followed according to CIRC requirement;
• Provide internal training to disseminate product knowledge
• Support Product Development Committee, Risk & Capital Committee in decision making and implementation of its policies and decisions;

Candidate Specification

• Bachelor’s degree or above from a reputable university;
• Detail-oriented, with a high-sense of ownership to ensure work quality;
• 7-10 years’ experience in general insurance, preferably in the area of product development, product filing or underwriting;
• Excellent communication skills, good teamwork spirit and ability to work under pressure;
• Had some leading experience and strong influencing power on organization change

• Fluency in both Chinese and English, both spoken and written;
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office system;
