We require a Regional BD / Sales Manager to drive dairy and nutritional ingredient sales and development in SE Asia. Reporting to the Commercial Director for AsPac, the Manager will be responsible for new business projects in the region with a focus on introducing and establishing localised products (and products streams) to strategic customers , while maintaining and developing current B2B lines to key market.
The position will operate from our office in Shanghai and will require travel throughout the region.. This role has a clear growth path for the next 5 years with the addition of regional and country specific sales managers. In the longer term it will also incorporate a regional collaboration centre to keep Glanbia in a leadership position.
The core responsibilities:
1 Using your experience and insight of the food industry to match Glanbias current nutritional range to meet customer’s needs
2 Work with our BDM team in Ireland and the USA to develop new products for local requirements which complement our existing offerings.
3 Canvas the market for new routes to market for existing business channels using
4 Develop relationships across departments within target accounts to make sure Glanbia is the first point of call for new product development or ingredient requirements
5 Report to the regional team market pricing, important trends and general market feedback on monthly reports and weekly calls.
6 Work with our factories in the USA and Ireland in a proactive way to clearly and put forward the requirements of the market
7 Manage customer projects, sales generation and relationship development with key customers in the region including multinational and national accounts.
8 Assist in the development of commercial and development strategy to maximise commercial success in the region
9 Create excitement with customers around our existing ingredients and new to market concepts.
10 Assist where required with regulatory assessment for new products and project manage new products for your region with the relevant teams.
11 Promote and maintain the company culture of service, customer satisfaction, quality and excellence.
The successful applicant will ideally have the following experience and qualities:
1 Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, commerce of food related degree
2 Dynamic manager with more than 5 years sales experience preferably in area of Business to Business sales.
3 A successful record of ‘business building’ across multiple markets.
4 Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
5 Experience of working in Asia marketplace is a requirement.
6 Experience and comfort operating within a multi-national, multicultural environment.
7 Prefer knowledge of the dairy marketplace and pricing mechanisms
8 Articulate with good communication skills.
9 Driven energetic self starter and finisher with strong business building capability
10 Resilient and able to develop strategy on a country by country basis
11 Prefer some sales management experience
