I. JOB IDENTIFICATION

• Technical engineer working in a sourcing-buying team in china for European customer
• New product development , in foundry environment and more orientated for water valves and hydrant business ( body , bonnet , gate , machined stems )

II. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To find proper suppliers able to support technically the development
• To Bring all information necessary to validate the supplier technically speaking ( capacity , experience , knowledge , organization )
• To Follow and manage the supplier to assure he success of the development of the product
• To communicate internally within the sourcing team in China of the progress and the difficulties of the development , but also with the European sourcing manager
• To provide sufficient technical report to the European sourcing manager so he can understand perfectly the situation and to be able to suggest some action plan
• To define work procedure with Valve & components team leader and contribute on accomplish annual sourcing budget

III. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

• Integrated within the Chinese sourcing team of a big French industrial group
• Fast changing environment , the candidate must be able to adapt and manage a lot of new development file at the same time
• Report to Valve & Components team leader
• Located in Ma’anshan/Xuzhou/Shanghai
• English is working language
• Travels and possibly irregular working time

IV. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education
• Bachelor degree or equivalent, majored in technology, in foundry area will be a plus.
• Business qualification:
• Experience in Valve business and or new products development with external suppliers
• Capable to use modern risk analyses technology and management project
• Foundry knowledge in ductile iron parts will be a plus
• Personal qualification
• Good organization skill to organize his own time and for other people
• Good communication skill in English with European customer
• Quick thinking and reactive
• Good resistance to assume a high work load and able to cope with high pressure situation.
