职位描述

Purpose of the position

1 Lead and develop the Ocean freight operations department (CS, etc.)
2 Fulfill the transportation demand within the agreed boundaries in a cost efficient and optimal way
3 Ensure a constructive collaboration with M&S as well as other departments within BU
4 Take advantage of operations synergies in the PA group (e. g. other BU)

Key Tasks

Responsibility (always in accordance with the instructions/guidelines from BUM CTU):

Management responsibilities: 80%
1 Is owner for Ocean freight related processes in the own department and is responsible for the smooth and effective process flow, for well functioning interfaces as well as for adherence to the defined quality standards
2 Manages all strategic activities
3 Develop and define a long-term network plan which fits the network and the Panalpina standard requirements
4 Define key suppliers together with PA Ocean organization and BUM CTU, establish long-term relationships and negotiate long-term contracts
5 Supervises and controls all activities within the Ocean freight department and ensure best in class service
6 Ensures smooth communication with other departments as well as the BUM CTU and represents the own department towards customers, suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders.

Management responsibilities (con’t):
1 Leads, motivates and develops the own team in a professional manner, both in compliance with company goals and standards and with HR policy, tools and guidelines.
2 Supports the substitutes to supervise and optimize the capacity utilization on the existing network in respect of operational and financial aspects on a BU view resp. in the interest of the PA Group.
3 Forecasts and analyses volume and capacity on a BU level for own department.
4 Establish procedures and manuals for all entities within the Ocean freight department .
5 Is responsible for compliance to general rules and regulations from BUM CTU resp. Head Office; voices and endorses resp. requirements.
6 Runs defined projects within the own department cost consciously and according to the defined timeline.
7 Designs, implements and monitors service performance quality reporting within the own department (Key Performance Indicators (KPI) incl. quality control) and initiates corrective measures.

Administration: 20%
1 Supports invoice- and overall cost control as well as gives instructions for issuing invoices.
2 Supports Subcontractor Management (administration, audit, etc.).
3 Prepares, supervises and coordinates statistical information within the own department.
4 Controls and signs off invoices for administrative expenditures. Prepares statistics for controlling purposes .
5 Gives training to new staff (Induction training) and other stakeholders on request.
