Job Title: Senior Manager, Project Procurement (WestChina)
Work Location: Chengdu, Sichuan
Reporting to: Head of Project Procurement

As Owner's Project Procurement Manager forequipment, materials and services, you will be working in an integrated team withone of BASF's Engineering Partners in Asia Pacific. You will make sure thatBASF's policies and procedures (mandatory and recommended) are properly appliedand that BASF procurement strategies are implemented. As Owner's representativeyou will consult with BASF internal business partners (e.g. Finance &Accounting, Logistics, investing Business Unit representatives, etc.). You willreport to the BASF Project Manager operationally and to your functionalsupervisor disciplinarily. You will maintain close contact to the regionalprocurement team for Category Management in Shanghai. As needed for long-leaditems and proprietary equipment, you will liaise with BASF's procurement teamsin Shanghai and/or Germany.

JOB OBJECTIVES:

• Project Procurement Management Services in one of BASF's capitalinvestment projects with Engineering Contractor. Project execution office islocated in Chengdu. The job site is remote in the far north-western part ofChina.


• Best Cost Country sourcing of materials and equipment in cooperationwith regional team of Category Management.

MAIN TASKS:

• Supervise and direct EPC Contractor's and Engineering Partner's inday-to-day project procurement operations for material, equipment &services.


• Ensure their compliance with BASF's mandatory procurement- /contracting-related procedures. Make sure minimum requirements as per BASFprocedures are met.


• Implement Value Contribution principles in a capital projectenvironment


• Review and approve on Owner's control documents.


• Collaborate with internal business partners.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BS Engineering, Chemistry,Economics or Finance;
Working Experience: 5-10 years or 5 years minimum with MBA
Management role in project procurement references for chemical or petrochemicalplants
Work history with EPC contractors beneficial
Equally knowledgeable in purchasing of materials and equipment as well ascontracting for large construction contracts
