Title Engineering Manager or Engineering Director
Reporting to: MD
Location: Suzhou

Position Responsibilities
？ Develop and implement a New projects launch strategy and Manufacturing
Engineering strategy to ensure on-time processes for smooth transition from
Engineering design to Mass-production, under defined milestones and good
quality.
？ Overall management of the Projects and Manufacturing Engineering
functions. Management oversight and development of the team in Suzhou and
coordination with global teams (Engineering, Pilot, Quality, Production).
？ Will be responsible for New projects (timeline, engineering transfer, test,
process definition, …) & Manufacturing Engineering (product/process change,
ECN, disposal decision, test, …) – to be define with GM later
？ Improve the existing system by benchmarking best practices.
？ Champion continuous improvement using Six Sigma and other
Management tools. Embed the Result-driven and on-time deliverables culture
in the company through staff training and continuous improvement initiatives.
？ Defining effective KPI’s for success in the position and tracking metrics.
？ Ensuring “Management by Objectives” processes are applied to drive a
culture of performance excellence.

Position Requirements
?Strong management skills with 10+ year’s experience in an Instruments or
Hardware Manufacturing setting in China, with a global company, based on low
volumes/high mix. Focus on Manufacturing/New projects experience highly
preferred.
Technical expertise, which includes successful experiences in new projects and
product manufacturing with visible results in QCD.
Expert in Manufacturing Engineering (implementation, set-up, running,
maintenance). Production managmeent is a plus.
?Western background with strong leadership and excellent communication skills
in English.
?Engineering degree in a related field (strong mechanical background required).
?Experience with successfully deploying the latest ME tools.
?Strong leadership experience with a proven track record of recruiting,
motivating and developing a team, from small team to sub-divisions.
?Willing to spend time on details with team members to define strong basis for
daily tasks.
?Strong creativity and innovative skills as well as project management skills.
?Strong team player able to work effectively with other functional leaders to
execute on the needs of the company.
?Strong results oriented day to day management skills.
?Excellent problem – solver, with a proven track record of analyzing and
resolving issues.
?Ability to develop, formulate strategy and exercise good judgment.
?Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
High level of business integrity and ethical standards

Expected outcomes first 12 months (TBC)
1)Develop a full understanding of Operations activities, make proposal for main
directions within the first 3 months.
2)Review current Projects Management processes and controls. Identify the top
3-5 ‘quick wins’ that will realize improvements within the first 3 months.
3)Visit at least 5 customers or suppliers per quarter to get an understanding of the
use of our products.
4)Review current process (Projects, Production, Vendors) to find improvement
within 6 months
Evaluate organizational setup to support the strategy and assess the capabilities of
the existing teams. Propose recommendations at the end of 6 months.
6)Define the key performance indicators for success in this position.
7)Get demonstrations of all products we own.
